I don't know how bonds work in other states but in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania a bond is only set to ensure that an individual will appear for court. Bond in the Commonwealth may not be used as a punishment it may only be used to ensure appearance. This type of crime is second only to murder in seriousness, but it must be kept in mind that our system of justice works on the idea that an accused person is presumed innocent until the charges are proven in a court of law. To date no evidence has been offerred under oath in a court room and no verdict has been rendered on these charges. All we have is rumor and inuendo from news media and talk shows. Lets wait until the evidence has been presented in a court room -- once the out come of the trial has been reached then the presumption of innonece is removed and punishment takes place. I have been asked over the years why we have court trials with juries -- why not just punish without the courts and juries. The talk show hosts and news media looking for ratings answer that question -- Our Founding Fathers put these steps in place to end mob, government or emotional rulings -- Remember, Justice may not always be fair -- but it is always Justice. Lets convict these offenders in a court of law before we start building the gallows.

I too am bail bond person and Beth is entirely right. Shame on the judge she should recuse herself from the case due to her involvement in the charity. Shame on her !!!!!!!!!!
