'Bones' Cast To Earn Big Pay Rise For Potential Eighth Season

Forget digging for 'Bones,' (Thurs., 9PM ET) the cast of the long-running Fox procedural has just hit buried treasure.According to The Hollywood Reporter, supporting cast-members Michaela Conlin, T.J. Thyne, Tamara Taylor and John Francis Daley have secured new deals that will see their salaries raised to the mid-five figures per episode, in exchange for an extra season on their contracts. The negotiations were particularly pressing for Conlin and Thyne, whose contracts were set to run out at the end of this season.
Now, if the show is picked up for an eighth season -- which seems likely, given this news -- fans can rest assured that all of the regular cast will return.
The four actors were rumored to be earning somewhere in the region of $30,000 to $40,000 per episode before their new deals with 20th Century Fox Television. The raises are reportedly retroactive, meaning that they will be applied to episodes of the show's current season, which will be abridged to accommodate star Emily Deschanel's pregnancy.
The two leads, Deschanel and David Boreanaz, had already renegotiated their contracts, which are in the six figures. Though rumors have been swirling of late that the show might be in danger of cancellation as it ages (despite solid ratings), the fact that 20th TV was so proactive in closing these deals can only be a positive sign.
Last night, 'Bones' rose eight percent in the ratings to become the night's top-rated drama, with 8.8 million viewers and a 2.8 share in the adults 18-49 demo.
Do you think 'Bones' will be back for an eighth season? Are you enjoying Booth and Brennan's pregnancy storyline?
