'Game of Thrones' Season 2 Preview Airs on HBO (VIDEO)
In a new behind-the-scenes video that aired on HBO Sunday night, we got our first glimpses of the second season of 'Game of Thrones.'The show doesn't return until April, but we're sure this is the first of many preview tidbits designed to whet our interest for the next round of machinations in Westeros and beyond. What do you think, 'Game of Thrones' fans -- did it work?
What am I saying? Of course those of us who became entranced by the first season of the show are counting the days until Tyrion, Cersei, Arya, Jon Snow and all the rest return -- not just those characters, of course, but the dozens of new players who will join the game in 2012.
Take it away, 'Game of Thrones' cast and producers:
By the way, all our 'Game of Thrones' coverage is here and HBO's regular 'Thrones' site and its extensive Making of 'Game of Thrones' sub-site are good resources as well. For day-to-day coverage of the show, you can't beat the exhaustive and well-written fan sites Westeros and Winter is Coming, who do a fabulous job of keeping fans informed of every scrap of news about the HBO show and the George R.R. Martin book series on which it is based.
For instance, Winter is Coming reported that filming recently ended on season 2 of the series in Northern Ireland, where most of the show is shot. Next up: 10 days of shooting in Iceland in December.
Doesn't that sound cozy?
And yes, I know that the image at the top of this post is from season 1. You can bet that when fresh season 2 images are available, I will grab them quicker than Tyrion absconds with a flagon of ale.
