Cyndi Lauper Wants to See More Women in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (VIDEO)

by Stephanie Opella, posted Nov 21st 2011 5:15PM
Cyndi Lauper visited 'Good Day NY' (weekdays, 9AM PT on Fox) to talk about the PBS documentary 'PBS Arts from Cleveland: Women Who Rock,' which she hosted. The documentary is a companion to the exhibit 'Women Who Rock, Vision, Passion, Power,' Greg Kelly asked Lauper if she was in the Hall of Fame herself. "I am, in this women's exhibit," she replied. Kelly was outraged at the injustice. "You're like in the Cooperstown Museum, not in the Hall. That is wrong," and Lauper agreed.

Lauper described taking her cousin's son to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and when they asked if she wanted a VIP tour, she declined because she felt there weren't enough women represented in the museum. She explained, "I said, 'Why do I want to feel bad, take my kid around and show him this?"' As it happened, there was a young woman working at the Hall of Fame who was trying to get an exhibit of women in rock started, so they asked Lauper to get involved, and thus, the project was born.

There is something about a 60 year old woman who dresses like a 20 something gothic chick that is just simply not flattering. After watching her on Piers Morgan reveal outright inaccurate info about the amount of debt Obama has incurred in the last three years. my love of her has dwindled considerably. Cyndi, I love you as a singer, but you are misinformed about the "Messiah". Stick to what you do best, which is not political commentary.
