American Idol Season 11 Promo'American Idol' Season 11 is almost upon us!

The Fox singing competition returns in January and if the preview below is any indication, it will be filled with our favorite 'Idol' standbys: frustrated contestants, Steven Tyler's antics, tears and declarations that these 20somethings will be "stars."

Tyler will be joined at the judges table by both Randy Jackson and Jennifer Lopez, despite lengthy contract talks for the latter. Ryan Seacrest returns as host.

Check out the video after the jump. One of those people could be the crowned the next 'American Idol' ...

Season 11 may be the best season to date, if last night's show is a prelude. Randy, Jennifer, Steven heads up, you'd be surprised how many seniors watch your show. Speaking personally, I enjoy the bantor (even Steven's rauchiness, in moderation); what I do find hard to take is leaving out the word "VERSION". When a young person sings a song by the person who made a remake of the original, I think it should be recognized. One young man sang the Jackson 5's remake of The Temptation's 'Who's Loving You' and the young lady who sang Carol King's version of a Motown song both remake artist sang the songs well but they did not change the songs or give them their personal stamp. Each song could be released every few years, by any artist with no changes of melody, rifts, temple and the song would still be a hit. So please give some credit to the amazing original artist every once in awhile.
