'The View' Discusses the Michele Bachmann Intro Song Controversy (VIDEO)
Last week, when the women of 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) discussed Congresswoman Michele Bachmann's 'One Word' appearance on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,' the conversation focused mostly on the awkwardness of the segment and Bachmann's jabs at her fellow Republican nominees. But after their initial chat, the national conversation about the appearance re-focused on the intro music that Fallon's house band The Roots played as Bachmann walked onto the stage, a song entitled 'Lyin' Ass Bitch.'The ladies went around the table offering their reactions to the controversy. Whoopi Goldberg pointed out that Rush Limbaugh responded by playing 'Baby Got Back' to introduce a segment about Michelle Obama. Joy Behar joked that maybe The Roots should have played 'Don't Know Much About History.' Elisabeth Hasselbeck noted that Bachmann demanding, and subsequently receiving an apology from NBC brought more attention to an incident that few people would have noticed otherwise.
