Brian Williams Reads the News Through Fire Alarm (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Nov 30th 2011 11:45AM

Few things are as awkwardly entertaining to watch as when live TV goes wrong. Tuesday night on 'NBC Nightly News,' a fire alarm went off in the middle of the broadcast as Brian Williams was reading a report about American Airlines' bankruptcy. Williams handled the distraction like a pro, pressing on to deliver the news over the noise. It was almost disappointing that he kept his composure and didn't melt-down into a "We'll do it live!" moment, but the video is still oddly hilarious to watch anyway.

After 9/11 I think all the vetran newscasters know how to hold it together. They sort of remind me of the old days of NASA. "Houston, we have a problem," said so calm, cool, and collected butter wouldn't have melted in his mouth. :)

I was amazed with his composure while things were spiraling out of his control and I think he deserves a special Emmy for remaining calm throughout the entire broadcast.

BRAVO Mr. Williams, BRAVO!
