It's Makeover Week for Final Five on 'The Biggest Loser' (VIDEO)
It's 'Makeover Week' on 'The Biggest Loser' (Tue., 8PM ET on NBC), which must have almost broken the hearts of the producers. There just wasn't as much to do with these five contestants as we've seen in past seasons, leading to final products that weren't as breathtaking as previous years.!!SPOILER ALERT!!
Nevertheless, they were clearly all having a good time shopping in Beverly Hills with stylist Jeannie Mai, who seemed as thrilled to meet them as they clearly didn't know who she was. Most importantly though, it's always exciting to see their new looks and how it makes them feel to be done over.
Even better, the producers continued the tradition of bringing in loved ones to share the moment. And as this final five all have significant others, it was even more heartfelt than seeing brothers, sisters and children in the past. It's interesting that the middle-aged group dominated the season, and they're dominating the final weeks as well.
At 51, Becky was close to that group anyway, leaving Vinny really the only odd one out. But with all those makeover distractions, who would be the odd one out on the scales. We didn't even see the trainers until the last chance workouts. Would that be enough.
It started off horribly, with Sunny dropping a single pound. At that point, you know John was even more ecstatic to have won a one-pound advantage for the second week in a row. Say what you will about the way he's playing the game, it is a game and he's playing more aggressively than anyone right now.
This week, he earned his pound in the classic challenge that puts all that weight the contestants had lost back on them and has them race along a course shedding it "week by week" in the same numbers they lost it on the scale. Only this time, the course was straight up a mountainside.
So it was a well-earned pound, and it turns out John didn't even need it. He came out on top of the leaderboard, while Antone fell below the yellow line with Sunny. After John's argument last week that he wanted to compete and earn the title, Antone smartly challenged him to vote Sunny and keep him in as a tougher competitor.
The ploy worked, and Sunny was sent home where we saw that she is doing just fine. She finally broke the 200-lbs mark and looks fantastic. But most importantly, she's involved in her family's life again -- and with a crazy busy schedule as well. Will she maintain that after the finale and when there's no more money on the line?
