Kardashian Sisters, Demi Lovato Help Battle Bullying on 'Extreme Makeover' (VIDEO)
Bullying is a serious problem that can lead to all sorts of emotional and psychological issues for the victims, even later into their lives. For the Walker family, it cost them their son after he committed suicide at the tender age of 11. On 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' (Fri., 8PM ET on ABC), the family was giving a new home they could hopefully feel at peace in, as well as some help with their anti-bullying initiative.First, the Kardashian sisters surprised eldest daughter Dominique on a shopping trip, where Khloe talked about her own experiences with bullying. She was often compared negatively to sisters Kourtney and Kim, and fans of the show know that she actually took a DNA test years later to see if she was truly related to them. Insecurities from bullying can linger for years.
At a benefit they threw for the Walker family cause, they invited Demi Lovato, who recently came out of a treatment center for the issues bullying pushed her into. So it was especially poignant when she performed 'Skyscraper' for the attended fans, and people of all ages. Maybe, through the tireless work of the Walkers, and celebrities who've been there, we can at least make a noticeable difference in bullying and our responses to it.
