Did a Surprise Revelation Change the Winner of 'America's Next Top Model'? (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 8th 2011 12:30AM
Tyra Banks, 'America's Next Top Model'There was a surprise waiting toward the end of this season finale of 'America's Next Top Model' (Wed., 9PM ET on The CW). Going into the finale, it was a three-way competition between Lisa D'Amato, Allison Harvard and Angelea Preston.

!!SPOILER ALERT!!

After watching their final shoots, Tyra Banks made her announcement. "It turns out that after shooting was wrapped, our production team and the network learned information from Angelea that disqualifies her from the competition," she said.

As such, they decided to re-evaluate Lisa and Allison without the added influence of Angelea's work in the mix. Did this change the winner? We don't know. Why was Angelea eliminated? Banks didn't say, but Zap2It is reporting that speculation has Angelea posting spoilers on her Facebook page, even going so far as to say that she won.

Hopefully, there will be some clarity brought to this story in the days to come, but for this cycle of 'ANTM,' it only meant that there was a final two. Banks revealed the winner by showing a motion editorial featuring both models. The final shot in the video was the winner, and it closed on Lisa.

Whether any of you chose to admit it or not, Lisa was as deserving as any other. Any one of those three could have won and it would have been deservedly so. I didn't want Lisa to win because I don't like her, not because she didn't deserve to. If anything Allison's eye being extremely sensitive to the sun may be a huge problem is the fashion industry, and even if it's not it gave just cause. Liking someone and wanting who you like to win doesn't always mean it's a right or wrong. If anyone pays attention the the Angelea from before until now, huge transformation. I am sure as she continued on she would have become even more refined as her experiences grew. Let's not forget where she comes from. She won a challenge hands down, and gave it away instantly by saying to a group of reporters that she had to use the bathroom. It's all a part of coming into her own. I did want Angelea to win, because I felt she came further than the other two. However, if Allison had won I wouldn't have mind. She is absolutely adorable, and just seems to steal your heart. I am sure we haven't heard or seen the last of her.

Top model are there to bring money to the network...that all. They don't care who would be the winner as long it is a good salable product.

Bottom line: There's more to a model than good looks. Example, Adrian Curry is beautiful, sexy and a good model but burps, farts, swears and cusses in public as we were all witness to, on national Reality TV. Gross---------------If I were a modeling agent, I certainly would not want to represent any model that did not act in a professional manner while in public.

What you're all missing is no matter whether Angelea was good or not good, the best or the worse, a lady or a sank; she was loud, ghetto, ignorant, stupid, confrontational and that is what the audience like in reality tv. When you have at least one person that can easily exhibit this type of behavior, the producers like it only because it makes their ratings go up and keep their ratings up. When they stop having people like this on thier show, the ratings will drop and the show will get canceled. It's a money making strategy. At the same time, I was wishing for Allison! And yes Matt, I'm black too.

I agree. All the reality shows have to have a villian who makes it to the end whether that person deserves it or not. It makes for better drama. Angelia was in the bottom four times. That says something. I have a feeling if she wasn't eliminated she would have won and there would have been this whole rags to riches, tough girl from the ghetto turning into a beautiful winner thing going on where we'd all go..Isn't it just wonderful that this poor mistreated and misunderstood woman finally made the big time. Barf!

Most of the "models" are anexoric and downright ugly. This show is an egregious waste of airtime.

Then don't watch it. That way you'll have nothing to gripe about.

I thought they finally found out she added the 'e' to her name. Who the hell names their child 'Angelea' anyway? Glad she didn't win, would have like to see Allison win though. Lisa looks so fake with that blonde hair, just isn't natural looking.

Respectfully, their is NO redeeming value in "America's Next Top Model" Absolutely NONE- I use to watch this program until Tyra BAnks & her CONTROLED opinions brought me to nauseaum.- The show is totally biased & Ms. Banks although beautiful & extremely talented does not play fair in the decision process. So, I took control with my remote- and the OFF switch- Too often, so many other beautiful girls were omitted due to a particular bias on Ms. Banks part- Check out ALL the previoius winners from past episodes- no way does this show display fairness. Maybe, these last two years things have changed- I have not been watching- This most recent episode may be for a good reason, but other rejections from the past, have not- Sorry-

I think Tyra resents pretty girls. She always goes for the strange-looking girls or the girls that are weird or outspoken. She's running her own agenda. And you should be glad you didn't watch the last few seasons. It was ridiculous. Tyra's ego is getting huge. A

The problem is, the strange looking, weird, bad attitude types bring in ratings. If all she picked were pretty women people wouldn't watch. That's not what they want from the reality shows.
