Dianna Agron: My 'Glee' Character Was Almost Scrapped

by Chris Harnick, posted Dec 9th 2011 2:10PM
Dianna Agron GleeCan you imagine 'Glee' without Quinn Fabray's crazy plotting and scheming? Dianna Agron said her character was almost dropped from the hit Fox series.

"They were going to scrap the character, but Robert [Ulrich, the casting director] asked for one more chance," Agron told Nylon about her 'Glee' audition.

Two days after her reading, Ulrich gave her some instructions to help her land the part.

"I went in and read, and they called me back two days later, and he told me to come back and straighten my hair, and wear something sexy. I was like, 'First of all, what is ... 'sexy'?' ... I went to like, a CVS, and bought a straightener and straightened it at Starbucks."

Quinn is in her last year of high school and recently announced plans to apply to Yale, but it's certainly been a bit of a rocky road for the character.

"Essentially, I'm a senior, so," she said, "I'll probably graduate this year."

This no longer teeny bopper loves the show, it's content is certainly not directed at children which is good because the actors are not kids either.

Quinn is such a roller coaster character. One minute I can't stand her because she's making someones life miserable , the next you realize shes doing it because her own is so messed up and you can't help but feel sorry for her. Either way , I'm glad they didn't scrap the character.
