Jeremy Kyle Talks About Bringing His Talk Show to America (VIDEO)

by Stephanie Opella, posted Dec 12th 2011 8:40PM
'The Jeremy Kyle Show' has been such a hit in the UK since it debuted in 2005 that it just couldn't be contained to one continent. His show came to American audiences in 2010, and on Monday Kyle stopped by 'Good Day NY' (weekdays 9AM ET on Fox), where he transitioning to the U.S "We've managed to bring it, I think, you know, the concept of it and do it absolutely the same, but the guests, I would say, and the audience are a bit more expressive," he explained. "They're louder!"

At first glance, Kyle's show looks a lot like 'The Jerry Springer Show,' but he takes the conflict a step further. Rosanna asked Kyle about how the show tries to help the guests. "Talk is talk, these stories are the stories," he told her. "But we do provide with Guest Support with [Dr.] Janet Taylor, we do try to provide an end. But it is, you know, it is conflict."

Another aspect that makes the show stand out is what Kyle calls 360 degrees, which is when the show follows the guests after they storm off stage. "I literally, if I'm trying to break somebody down, if I'm trying to get to the point, I go ... I ended up on the third floor in the restroom once with somebody." That's called going anywhere to get the story.
