'Ruby' Canceled? Future of Style Series In Jeopardy

by Chris Harnick, posted Dec 13th 2011 10:15AM
RubyStyle has "no plans" to renew 'Ruby,' the hit reality show about Ruby Gettinger's weight-loss journey. According to EW, the network isn't closing the door completely on the series, but there are no immediate plans for a fifth season.

"We thank Ruby for sharing her inspirational journey with the Style viewers, and we look forward to her serving as a 'Fight with Style' Ambassador in the fight against obesity," the network said in a statement.

The fourth season of 'Ruby' debuted to roughly half a million viewers in March 2011. The finale featured Ruby heading to New York to visit with Rosie O'Donnell.

The show has been a part of Style's original programming line-up since 2008.

YES! I am a registered dietitian and have told lots of people about this show. It was an interesting perspective to see what she was doing at home that her dietitian did not see (Like pouring bottles of butter spray into her veggies because she thinks it's low-cal). I'm so disappointed it's off the air for now. Please bring it back :)

Pleaqse bring RUBY back. I really miss her show and was sooooo very disappointed to hear that you do not have any plans to bring it back. Her show, frankly, was the most "real' of the reality shows and it showed an honest picture of someone struggling with her weight and all of the challenges and temptations it brings daily. It was a real service to us all who fight our weight every day and it was comforting to see someone who struggled just like us. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE BRING BACK RUBY!!!!

Please remove the previous post. It was missing part of a sentence. The photo and article of "Kim Kardashian has short marriages" is what I don't want to see. BORING! Typical canned face, canned hair, canned life and canned marriages. Please. Who cares if she's married or not? If she gained 700 pounds, and posted a picture of herself crying as she gazes hungrily at a grapefruit cup in the freezer, Put Ruby back on. Take off Miss Perfect Boring Kim Kardasian. The only reason I came on this site is to find out when Ruby is coming back on. Why cancel a goldmine? The photo and article of "Kim Kardashian has short marriages" is what I don't want to see. I definitely want to see more Ruby. Put Ruby back on. She's the only show I watch since Lost went off the air. Ruby is having a hard time with losing weight, a problem most women can relate to. All I ask is the show reflect real issues. I'm tired of seeing flawless faces, canned jokes, and prearranged scenarios. Give us more Ruby.I definitely want to see more Ruby. Put Ruby back on.
