Like every TV show, 'American Idol' couldn't survive without a headline scandal.

In just seven seasons, 'Idol' has had its fair share of juicy gossip items: nude photos; arrests; wrong numbers -- not to mention Corey Clark's alleged affair with Paula Abdul.

David's Naked Night Job
Season Seven: After he'd crooned his way into the Top 16, photos of a scantily clad David Hernandez hit the Internet along with allegations that he used to work as an exotic dancer at a strip club that catered to men. Producers have yet to decide if his stripping past will get him booted from the show.

Fallen 'Idol'
Season Four: Two weeks after receiving a year's probation for drug possession and battery charges (and shortly before returning to rehab in California), 10th place finalist Jessica Sierra found herself back in a Tampa Bay jail for disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest. TMZ.com recently broke the news that Sierra is expecting her first child and following a 'pregnancy diet' while in lock-up.

Sanjaya's Staying Power
Season Six: Perhaps no other 'Idol' contestant caused more controversy than Sanjaya Malakar, who had Simon threatening to leave the show, received support from Howard Stern in hopes of destroying 'Idol's' reputation and caused a non-fan to go on a 12-day hunger strike in protest.

Season Six: Suggestive photos of half-clothed semifinalist Antonella Barba hit the Web shortly after she was named to the Top 24. Show producers chose not to cut her, but America disagreed. She didn't make the Top 12.

Season Five: Court TV uncovers that Bucky Covington once tried to switch places with his twin brother to help him avoid criminal prosecution.

Brittenum Twins Booted
Season Five: The identical Memphis twins wow the judges, though no one knew the boys had outstanding criminal warrants. Both were charged in Georgia with forgery, theft by deception and identity fraud for allegedly using another man's identity to buy a car.
