Spoiler Alert: Do not read on unless you've seen the Season 3 finale of "Nikita," titled "Til Death Do Us Part."

The "Nikita" Season 3 finale left things on a heartbreaking note, with Nikita (Maggie Q) wrongfully accused of assassinating the President (Michelle Nolden) and abandoning Michael (Shane West) and the rest of the superfriends to try and clear her name and take down Amanda (Melinda Clarke) alone.

Thankfully, The CW has renewed "Nikita" for a fourth and final season of six episodes, so HuffPost TV caught up with showrunner Craig Silverstein to discuss where our heroes go from here and how the writers plan to wrap up the series in the final run.

Watching Division blow up was very cathartic, how did it feel for you guys to actually do it?
It was incredibly exciting. [Executive producer] Albert Kim was up on set and sent us an iPhone video of some of the big columns coming down and crushing that briefing room table, which was the bane of our existence throughout the season because it was difficult to get interesting shots in that room. So we all felt oddly cathartic watching that.

Why was it so important to you that Nikita break from the group and isolate herself while attempting to clear her name?
I think it was important because it pushes the character -- it's a good launching place for her character in Season 4 and it also is something that made sense for her to do, being that she's a lone wolf at heart and that she would rather put herself on the line than her friends when something this major is coming down on them.

We know that Michael doesn't ever give up on her that easily. Will finding her be his main drive when we come back?
Yeah absolutely, and as we've seen, he has experience with that. We were always trying to figure out some way that we could put him back on the chase for her, which is a great metaphor for their relationship.

Are you planning on a time-jump to come back next season, or picking up right where we left off?
There'll be a bit of a time-jump, I think. Not too huge though.

We now know that you've got 6 episodes to close the story -- does that feel like enough time to do it justice?
Yeah, because the situation that we go out on is so heightened and so immediate, we can launch into a large event that has pace and stakes right from the start. In theory, it's very concentrated on our characters and the serialization of that, so that we don't have to have missions and clients. The procedural gods you have to bow to in the early season aren't so important and won't take up so much of our time.

We first saw Mr. Jones (David S. Lee) back in Season 2 when Percy was trying to join The Group. How much of this season's plan and beyond was already laid out when you first introduced the character and how much did you figure out as you went?
We always thought that The Group was going to step in in a larger way, but at the network's request we had to hold them off for a while in Season 2 because they represent serialization in a way, they represent a grand conspiracy and that's not where our interests lay at the beginning of Season 3. So we always knew they'd weave back in. Their plot will be the main backbone of Season 4.

Mr. Jones seems to know that he has a very volatile partner in Amanda -- does he really need her, or might their differences cause him to reevaluate the partnership?
He does need her, and what exactly they need her for will be very clear in the first first few shows.

Will we learn exactly how Amanda joined forces with The Group next season, or are there certain bits of backstory that you're going to have to sacrifice because of time constraints?
I think it's a pretty simple explanation: they were making overtures to her ever since she was kicked out of Division but she didn't really care, she was focused on Nikita, and then she found a way that it could dovetail. Her own self-destruction -- which is something that she's pretty much committed to, I think -- was waylaid by having this opportunity given to her by The Group and The Shop to do what she does best, which is mould people and transform them. That's the opportunity they've given her and it would've all worked out extremely well if Nikita had died, but Nikita obviously lived, and she's taking it a lot more seriously than Mr. Jones is.

Owen's (Devon Sawa) story was left very open-ended, can you preview anything about how you see him fitting into next season?
We haven't seen the last of Sam. We didn't want to bring Sam back to the light side too quickly, so we want to keep him out there as a wild card and follow through on some things we may have started up between him and the group and him and Alex [Lyndsy Fonseca] in the last few shows.

Speaking of Alex, I love the path you've opened up for her this season with the UN and tackling human trafficking -- does this mean that she'll revert back to being a public figure and step back from active missions?
She'll step back from active missions only in the way that Bruce Wayne steps back from active missions. She's a diplomat by day and ass-kicker by night.

Now that Division no longer needs overseeing, will Ryan (Noah Bean) still be de facto leader?
No, I think that Michael will be the leader of the on-the-road band and Ryan's talent at spotting the patterns behind grand conspiracies will be put to use to try to pick up on what exactly The Shop is planning.

Might we meet some of Birkhoff's (Aaron Stanford) hacker buddies in the flesh?
Yeah, that's definitely something that we wanted to do. I think that we'll have room to do that in the six.

The president still being alive was a great twist -- will she play a bigger role in the final six or will we see her stuck in the cage and it will all resolve itself towards the end?
I think that'll resolve itself towards the end, but you'll notice in the scene where she's in the cage, you can hear other voices around as well in the room she's in, so what's that all about? She's not the only one there.

I like that you embraced the spy-fi elements even further in the last few episodes, will we see a bigger push towards that in the final six?
Yeah, I think that exactly what The Shop is and what the plan is and how it's a natural evolution of what Division was, is gonna be the major spy-fi element that we deal with.

Those last few scenes with Amanda surviving and Nikita leaving Michael would've been exceptionally cruel if you hadn't got a final season -- were you always fairly confident?
I was confident, I had a feeling different from the feelings I had at the end of 1 and 2.

What were you most proud of in Season 3 and what would you change in hindsight?
I guess I really thought that the episode in which Michael lost his hand was awesome and I think that was my proudest moment in the season. And if there's a regret, it's that we knew there'd be an outcry so we thought we had to give his hand back quickly, but my regret is now, looking back, I realize we could've extended that story and had him with the bionic hand for much longer and could've made a lot more out of that.

Any hints for the fans in terms of what they can expect next season?
I would say that if the theme of the first season was the price of revenge, and the second season was home and the theme of the third season was family, then the theme of the final season is identity and it's really about Nikita once and for all in a battle for asserting her identity of exactly who she is versus what other people have tried to label her as.

What did you think of the "Nikita" Season 3 finale and what are your predictions for the final run? Weigh in below!

<HH--236SLIDEEXPAND--253340--HH>

Sunday night I'm going to be surrounded by all kinds of great music when I host The Billboard Music Awards starting at 8 p.m. on ABC. But the truth is that music has been around me my whole life. My father was a musician. Growing up in the hood surrounded by a lot of poverty, music was one of the only things that made poor people feel good, so music was in every room of my house.

My first musical memories are of the music my Dad made, and then the R&B that my mom played like The Jacksons, Al Green, The Temptations and even Johnny Mathis which was for my grandmother and grandfather's generation. I loved it all. The O'Jays said it best when they sang, "I LOVE MUSIC." They sang, "music soothes the savage beast," and they were right. That's why we need music and arts for our young people. We've got to put instruments in young people's hands because that's the kind of thing that really touches the soul.

I love The Billboard Music Awards because they're about all kinds of music. You get to see a little of everything. You get Bruno Mars, a rare TV appearance from Prince and Taylor Swift too. I hear Madonna's coming by. I really like that you get to see and hear other genres of music. That's a beautiful thing because people's minds and hearts are open to it. Tune in Sunday night and you might fall in love with something new. I'm the host, so I'm looking forward to seeing everybody.

I love working with Don Mischer who's very sweet for an Executive Producer and all the writers. The whole team here at Billboard is treating me very well in Las Vegas. I don't party much anymore, but I love to be here for the fun, for the atmosphere and for the music. Tune in Sunday night on ABC and you can see and hear for yourselves.

Note: Do not read on if you have not yet seen the Season 4 finale of The CW's "The Vampire Diaries," titled "Graduation."

"The Vampire Diaries" finale closed some doors, but opened a lot of other ones. Stefan (Paul Wesley) is in a safe at the bottom of the ocean after Silas revealed to the younger Salvatore brother that he is his doppleganger and pushed him off a cliff; Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) confessed their love for one another; Bonnie (Kat Graham) brought Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) back from the dead, but now she's officially a ghost; Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Caroline (Candice Accola) shared a tender moment; Katherine (Dobrev) is now a human after Elena shoved the cure down her throat; and Matt (Zach Roerig) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) finally kissed and planned a summer vacation far from Mystic Falls.

The hit CW series's showrunner Julie Plec and the show's stars Joseph Morgan and Nina Dobrev broke down the "Vampire Diaries" finale and shared what's to come in Season 5.

Silas Is The New Stefan
Plec told Entertainment Weekly that the writers had been planning this game-changing storyline since the end of Season 3, but it was hard to get everyone on board with another doppleganger storyline. "We had to convince a lot of different people of how it could work and what could make it work so that we didn't end up in a similar situation as with Katherine and Elena, where we exhausted Nina to the point of being unable to get out of her bed, because we accidentally overworked her so much," Plec told Zap2It. "Creatively, everybody was very excited."

Apparently, Paul Wesley (Stefan) is more excited than anyone that he finally gets to play a character who's far from the show's safe hero role that he's been stuck in for four seasons. "He's very enthusiastic about this, and has been supportive of it all along," Plec told Zap2It. "He's been dying for something; to be a jerk, to be evil, to be the bad guy, to be able to stretch his muscles."

But will we ever see Stefan as Stefan again? "If and when he finally gets free, he's not necessarily gonna come out of there all sunshine and rainbows," Plec teased to EW.

Elena, A Happy College Co-Ed?
After admitting that he's a terrible boyfriend, Elena told Damon that she loves him and the two shared a passionate fireside kiss, while poor third wheel Stefan was drowning. Though there's no word as to how the Stefan/Silas situation will affect the back-on Delena, it seems they're blissfully unaware. "I really like playing a lighter Elena so hopefully going to college will bring out her fun and frisky side," Nina Dobrev told TV Guide, though it's not clear where yet.

Plec told Zap2It that we're going to see "Damon trying to be a good boyfriend, and while it's not going to be easy, he's going to try like hell to make it work, and they're going to have a real opportunity for happiness."

Jeremy's Back, But Will Bonnie Be?
"The Vampire Diaries" finale also saw Bonnie reveal to Jeremy that she sacrificed her life to save his so he didn't have to go back to the other side when she closed the veil. As difficult as that decision must've been for Bonnie, Plec hinted that the writers' decision to bring Jeremy back was an equally challenging one. She wanted to assure fans that it wasn't a cheap move. "Critically, you can look at something and go, 'Well, that's a take-back, it's not fair,' but emotionally, I think, it's a positive. We might get hammered for it. We'll see," the showrunner told Zap2It. "[Getting Jeremy back] resets [Elena], in a way, where she can now get on with her life and live like the Elena that we know ... I'm hoping people will be so glad to see our Elena pull her life back together, they'll accept it."

Plec told EW that Kat Graham "will be a regular. She will be around. If anything, we'll see as much if not more of her. And it gives us a great way to develop more stories for her outside of just her being the witch that comes in and tries to save the day. I'm excited about the opportunity to tell a romantic relationship between two people who can't physically be together."

The End of Klaroline?
Topping the list of sweeter moments in the "Vampire Diaries" finale was the kindness Klaus exhibited toward Caroline, saying her current love Tyler could return to Mystic Falls, especially now that he's headed to New Orleans in "The Originals" spinoff. "There is a responsibility for the fans who were rooting for Klaus and Caroline to at least give them some sort of resolve," Joseph Morgan told TV Guide at The CW 2013 upfront. "That's not saying it's the end of that because there's the potential of crossovers between the shows, but just something to acknowledge that we owed that to them."

A Human Katherine Pierce
Elena's doppleganger Katherine was the long-awaited answer to the "Who will get the cure?" question in the "Vampire Diaries" finale, with Elena forcing it down her throat during an epic cat fight. So what will a human Katherine be like? "She's still very, very bad," Plec told Zap2It. "If anything, she feels silly for letting herself get vulnerable, and she's taking out that frustration of her own vulnerability on Elena."

But there might be some frustration being taken out on Katherine as well. "It may be time to pay some of the price for all the crappy things she's done to other people over the last 500 years," Plec teased to EW.

For more on "The Vampire Diaries," Zap2It and TVGuide and EW.

<HH--236SLIDEEXPAND--290463--HH>

Note: Do not read on if you have not yet seen the Season 9 finale of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," titled "Perfect Storm."

Thursday's "Grey's Anatomy" finale might not have seen an actual death ... yet, but the superstorm-centric episode did see what appears to be the death of some of the show's most shipped couples: Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) cheated on Callie (Sara Ramirez) with Lauren (Hilarie Burton), leading to a blow-up fight where Arizona revealed her repressed feelings about Callie amputating her leg at the beginning of the season; Cristina (Sandra Oh) walked away from Owen (Kevin McKidd) after realizing she could never give him what he wants; and Bailey (Chandra Wilson) blew up at Webber (James Pickens Jr.), calling him an alcoholic, and at the end of the "Grey's Anatomy" finale she was unaware that he's unconscious in the basement of the hospital. (And yes, we realize the last isn't a romantic pairing, but still).

In the wake of the finale, "Grey's Anatomy" creator Shonda Rhimes and stars Jessica Capshaw and Kevin McKidd calmed some of fans' fears and confirmed others. Read on below for the fates of "Grey's Anatomy" couples Callie and Arizona, Owen and Cristina and whether or not we'll see Webber in Season 10.

Can Callie And Arizona Survive?
After Callie found out Arizona had slept with Lauren -- via Arizona's engagement ring pinned on Lauren's shirt, which is where they keep them so that they don't get in the way during surgeries -- the two had a fight that revealed emotions that have been suppressed for months. Arizona clearly has yet to forgive her wife for breaking her promise that she'd save her leg after the plane crash that ended Season 8, and Capshaw said she can understand both sides of the situation.

"What you see in her very core is that Arizona does not forgive Callie ... When you're watching it, if you're really listening, you understand both people's point of view," Capshaw told The Hollywood Reporter, noting the lack of trust exhibited from both women.

But can the fan-favorite "Grey's Anatomy" couple survive this? "I've been with my husband for 11 years, married for nine and when I think of the rupture of a relationship and the fallout of infidelity, I don't know that you can get that trust back," Caphsaw told THR. "Infidelity is horrible, there's nothing worse than that; it's devastating. I hope it doesn't turn into a year of self-flagellation for Arizona. I think you can do something bad and it doesn't make you a bad person ... We are the sum of our experiences and we can make a bad choice and turn around and do better. I do think that with any kind of infidelity, on some level -- unless you're dealing with a sociopath -- there's always a reason. There will be an exploration of what that reason was and that will give the 'Grey's' writers fertile ground to play with next season."'

Is This The End For Cristina And Owen?
When the almost-parentless young boy that Owen took a liking to left Grey Sloan Memorial with his father, a patient, Cristina saw the pain in her on-again-off-again ex-husband-but-now-boyfriend's eyes. She decided to walk away from him, knowing that since she doesn't want children, she can never make him completely happy.

"Whether they ever are together again, there's so much connection and history between them that they're always going to have some kind of relationship," Kevin McKidd told TV Guide. "I don't think it's the end for them, it's just another turn in their very complicated relationship. In a strange way, this is Cristina showing how much she cares for this guy."

But Shonda Rhimes seems to feel differently. "I feel like there's a sense that this is the end of the journey that they've been on for two seasons that was sort of messed up by the fact that she was in the plane crash," the showrunner told Entertainment Weekly. Of course, when Bailey realized she needed to apologize to her longtime mentor and friend Richard (who gave her away at her wedding), "Grey's Anatomy" fans found out that she might be too late: He was unconscious in the flooded basement of the hospital, electrocuted after the power came back on in the wake of the storm.

"Hopefully that's not going to happen, but we don't know," McKidd told TV Guide about Richard's possible death.

ABC's "Scandal" finale closed the climactic second season with the show's biggest bombshell yet: the mysterious Rowan (Joe Morton), the B613 boss who has been threatening Cyrus (Jeff Perry) and giving Jake (Scott Foley) his orders, is also Olivia Pope's (Kerry Washington) father. Move over, Darth Vader.

"When we read it, we were just really blown away," Washington told The Huffington Post on the red carpet for the Television Academy's "Scandal" live table read on May 16. "What's funny is that the writers do that to us every week and then we pay it forward [to the audience]."

"I knew all along," Morton smugly revealed to a packed house during the cast Q&A that followed the table read.

"When Joe Morton walked in the room for the very first episode that he appeared in, I almost had a heart attack, because I grew up in a household where Joe Morton is a great American hero," Washington said. "He is the first guest star that we've had that I literally called home about." (Foley feigned indignation at this point, to which Washington responded that her family members were bigger fans of "Brother from Another Planet" than "Felicity.")

"Every week I would say to Joe, 'Oh, I really hope we have some scenes together,' and he would smile and go, 'Do we? Do you think we do?'" Washington laughed.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, creator Shonda Rhimes conceived the character as a means of giving the audience some insight into who Olivia is outside of work. "I've been toying with [Rowan being Olivia's father] a lot since the beginning of the second season. A lot of it was about revealing some of Olivia's past and about revealing who Olivia's father was in general, what that meant and who her mother was."

“There's a lot of talk in the room about why Olivia has such man issues. She makes very, very, very bad choices,” Rhimes told EW. “Part of bringing [Rowan] on was to open up her world a little bit, but it also revealed another piece of Olivia's past.”

But since Rowan has been playing puppet-master for half the season, that means he's responsible for orchestrating a lot of questionable -- if not downright life-threatening -- situations for his daughter. "B613 did seem to be trying to kill her, kind of," Rhimes conceded to THR. "At the very least, Rowan was trying to get Jake to have sex with her and then make a tape of it, which seems creepy on many levels, right? At the very least that's a little disturbing on many, many levels. I don't know if they were trying to kill her, that's up to interpretation."

Rhimes confirmed that there wouldn't be much of a time-jump between the end of Season 2 and the beginning of Season 3, telling THR, "I was really adamant about the fact that if we were going to end the season with the idea that Liv has been somehow outed by some unknown force and we meet her dad, we couldn't then just say we're going to jump ahead and cheat the audience of what all that meant."

The executive producer also teased that there was originally a scene towards the end of the episode that would've shown Olivia and Fitz rekindling their forbidden romance after Olivia insisted that she couldn't leave her team at Olivia Pope and Associates, "but the problem with it was that Olivia put the white hat back on and emotionally you had felt like she had found her inner core after losing it so badly. It felt like a cheat; that we were cheating her out of trying to do something good," Rhimes told TV Guide.

Still, as Rhimes pointed out to THR, "There's no forever in Shondaland," and while Fitz and Olivia might be separated for now, that might not always be the case. As Tony Goldwyn told us on the red carpet, "He loves Olivia more than he loves being president, he believes that his destiny is to be with Olivia. But he loves being president and he does feel that that's part of his destiny as well. He wants to find a way to have his cake and eat it too, and is very determined to do that. But he chose, and he chose her, and that's real."

Speaking to TV Guide, Rhimes observed that "[Mellie] took him back in the end, but that was a little bit like a boy coming home to his mama, wasn't it? It wasn't a romantic coming home. That's going to be a very interesting dynamic when we come back next season."

"Fitz has this weird relationship with Mellie, because I appreciate her, I have deep respect for her intellect and her potential, and yet I have contempt for her blind ambition," Goldwyn told HuffPost TV before the table read. "I love her and I hate her and I admire her, I have very complicated feelings about her, and yet … she's the mother of my children so I honor her as such. I feel like Fitz is determined, if he can set Mellie on a path towards the truth, then this will all get sorted out, because he feels like their relationship was corrupt from its beginning. He's committed to reality, he's willing to face that. He's committed to Olivia, he's committed to forcing Mellie to deal in reality, and ultimately I think he would want Mellie to be happy. He doesn't hate Mellie."

Bellamy Young admitted that Mellie is still holding out hope that Fitz will love her the way she loves him, telling us on the red carpet, "What we do in long relationships is assume that the other person doesn't change; we still operate from a place that when we fell in love with them, they thought and acted like this. And I think Mellie's guilty of that in so many ways, and Fitz has been transformed by this love with Olivia. So he really is a different person now and Mellie can't accept it. Mellie is still in the ring, still punching away, trying to get her love back. She doesn't quite accept that you cannot force someone to love you."

Fitz has said and done some pretty terrible things this season, and yet Mellie has continued to pine for him, so we asked Young whether there's anything Fitz could do that would change her feelings towards him. "Like life, we never know what's around the bend in these scripts, and I don't know," she admitted. "I will never say never. I know her love for him is so deep and so true, but I think Mellie's open to evolution. I hope that she finds peace in her heart one way or the other. I know that love can transform, so maybe she can love him in different ways and accept that he doesn't want to be her partner in this life. What I know for sure is that Shonda will think of something so much smarter than I would ever think of."

After half a season of lies and manipulation, the finale saw Jake reveal himself to be a hero at heart, saving Olivia's life once more before surrendering to Rowan and allowing himself to be thrown into the hole that caused Huck (Guillermo Diaz) to lose his sanity, as we saw in "Seven-Fifty-Two."

Before the episode aired, Foley admitted, "Everybody who we know who's been in B613, from Huck to Charlie [George Newbern], they all seem to want out, they all seem to be in a position where they don't like their job. And maybe Jake's in the same position -- if they want out, why wouldn't he? They seem like they loved their jobs at one point. I think Jake has, to a degree, taken matters into his own hands in regards to what both Fitz and Rowan have asked him to do, and I think we'll see the consequences for that, and that may or may not end Jake as we know him."

He wasn't lying -- and while Rhimes wouldn't reveal anything about Jake's ultimate fate at the Q&A, Foley's character seems far too compelling to be relegated to the hole forever, especially since it seemed like Olivia was finally starting to come to terms with her own feelings for him in the finale. "It's complicated -- it's a complicated relationship, for sure," Washington laughed on the red carpet.

For his part, Foley is hoping Jake will get the chance for a proper interaction with Huck, as they're both B613 rebels who care for our head Gladiator. "I think that'd be interesting, to have the two of them sit down and hash it out. Who loves Olivia more, Huck or Jake? Fitz needs to go back to his wife and calm down," he teased before the panel.

For more on the "Scandal" finale, head over to THR, EW and TV Guide.

What did you think of the "Scandal" season finale? What is that?” Krasinski as Jim says in the video. “I'm working. I don't know if you're working, but I have work to do," Fischer retorts as Pam.

“As soon as Jenna walked in, she was exactly what I imagined the part to be. I remember very vividly, I turned to her and said, ‘Just so you know, you're gonna get the part,'" Krasinksi remembered. "And she's like,‘That's so crazy, ‘cause I thought you're gonna get the part.'”

Fischer said she knew she had chemistry with Krasinski from the moment she met him, and that chemistry lasted for a whole nine seasons. The actress noted that when she and Krasinski go out to dinner together, they get approached by fans hoping they've finally gotten together in real life. Unfortunately for "The Office" fans, both are married and not to each other.

But Jim and Pam's love story will last forever, preserved in TV history. Us Weekly named Pam selling the couple's house to follow Jim's dreams one of "The Office" finale's best moments, and Vulture said the finale was perfect -- hitting the right moments, and bringing back the right old faces -- including, in case you missed it, Michael Scott (Steve Carrell).

<HH--236SLIDEEXPAND--248943--HH>

The porn industry and Google Glass could soon be a marriage made in.. well, a private place with maybe the lights down low.

Sex industry news outlet XBIZ reports filmmakers have big plans for the reality-enhancing device once it hits the mainstream -- looking to shoot

"To really know their full potential, we'll need to get a pair to play around with, but we're already dreaming up ways to use the glasses to get shots (sex-related and otherwise) that just aren't feasible using a traditional camera setup," a spokesperson for production company Pink Visual told XBIZ.

The idea, it seems, is to strip away the stilted trappings of the usual porn shoot and open it up to a more intimate, first-person experience. The emerging technology seems well-suited to full immersion erotica. Basically, Google Glass packs a camera, display, microphone and touchpad into a pair of glasses, adding a digital, web-enabled overlay to your field of vision.

The product is still in development reportedly slated to hit the market late this year or in 2014 -- with a price tag of around $1,500.

And the porn industry will be right there waiting for it.

"The way that this will change porn is pretty ridiculous," adult film star and radio host Alana Evans told Tech News Daily. "It's going to cause a huge drive in POV- (point of view) style production."

Another adult film industry executive, Peter Acworth, suggests Google Glass will also inspire a whole new sub-genre of gonzo porn.

"You could film picking up someone at a bar and taking them home, for example," he told told Silicon Valley Business Journal. "It takes the whole genre of POV and reality productions one stage further. You'll hopefully get something very authentic.

"We'll get so used to people wearing them that you'll never know if you're being filmed or not."

And after careful consideration of everyone's schedules for next spring, we are excited to be returning the current cycle of judges -- Shakira and Usher along with Blake and Adam -- for cycle 6, which will premiere after the Winter Olympics.”

Although Shakira and Usher have been popular with viewers -- and the show continues to dominate the ratings -- it was always expected that Aguilera and Green would retake their spinning chairs for the show's fall cycle, having taken a break to work on other projects.

Rumors of Aguilera's return to "The Voice" have been stirring this week. The Wrap reported that Aguilera was nearing a $17 million contract, the same amount she earned for Season 3 -- slightly less than Mariah Carey's reported $18 million for "American Idol" -- but a source close to the situation told The Huffington Post earlier this week that Aguilera's figure where somewhere nearer $12 million.

"As I have expressed since day one of the show, that I am a singer and performer first and I am so excited to get back to that love," Aguilera said back in September when she left "The Voice." "Since this year NBC and 'The Voice' have decided to tape back-to-back seasons, requiring a full-year commitment, it is important for me to take season four off, allowing me to support my music that my fans have been waiting for -- with the release of my new album 'Lotus' on November 13. By pursuing my first passion of music during the break, I am also able to come back and offer even more to my team on 'The Voice' in the future.”

Green has also long expressed his desire to return to "The Voice." Back in December 2012, shortly after Season 3 of the NBC reality series ended, the coach stopped by "Today" and said, "Let's be straight about this, ladies and gentlemen: I'm not leaving 'The Voice.'
Andrew Fish: Adina Porter: The Newsroom, True Blood and Motherhood

Juggling career and family is a lot easier when you love what you're doing. Heading into its second season, HBO's The Newsroom has been controversial since day one, and Adina Porter has been all the more thrilled to be involved as the sparks have flown. Best known for her intense portrayal of Lettie Mae Thornton, the manipulative, sanctimonious, emotionally abusive mother of Tara (Rutina Wesley) on True Blood, Porter is now happily dedicated to her Newsroom supporting character, Kendra James. Following frustrated Republican anchorman Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels) as he wages media war on the Tea Party and its influence on the GOP, the Aaron Sorkin-created show has spawned prolific debate, with detractors and supporters generating pages of opposing opinions on the message boards.

"If you're going to talk about politics, then there are going to be folks who are with you and folks that are against you," Porter relates during our Iconic Interview chat. Upon learning of the heat the show was stirring up, she recalls, "I thought, whoa! Okay, some people want to pull Aaron off his pedestal a little bit, which made me defensive for Aaron, and more excited to be involved with [the show], because it must mean we're getting under people's skin."

When I asked Porter which of her other recent TV roles I might take a look at before our meeting in Toluca Lake, she let me know that with two kids, she rarely watches her television work -- besides The Newsroom -- and has trouble keeping track of which shows she's on. "Thank goodness for IMDB," she wrote in an email. Once we're seated at an outdoor table at Priscilla's coffee shop, she follows up with a laugh, "I have no time! I didn't watch last season of True Blood. I didn't watch my scene -- I'm sorry!" Having swapped notes with actress Emily Mortimer -- who co-stars with Daniels on the political/broadcast drama that premieres July 14th -- they've agreed that "work is hard, but being a mom is harder," as Porter says. "If you get out in time to have dinner with your kids or put your kids to bed -- as soon as you walk in the door and you drop your bags, you don't even have time to take off your makeup. You're on!"

Amid the shooting of the fast-paced repartee and meticulous monologues that are Sorkin's stock in trade, the Newsroom cast and crew have grown close. Porter tells of a time when Daniels asked her why she was sitting away from the conference table during a scene. She answered that that's where she was told to be, and when she was later moved to a prominent spot at the table with more access to screen time, she asked Daniels if he had said something on her behalf. "He goes, 'I didn't demand anything, I just asked the question -- four times,'" she smiles. "That's just generosity! He doesn't have to do that. I appreciate that, but it also helps because we're supposed to be this news team that works together -- so you can either fake it or you can make it happen for real. He knows what it's like, being a theater actor, to give and take. That's lovely, and I thanked him for it."

Porter understands the value of on-set camaraderie, with a portfolio that starts in the early '90s and includes Law & Order, Brooklyn South, Judging Amy, Crossing Jordan, NYPD Blue, ER, CSI, Prison Break, American Horror Story, Grey's Anatomy, Glee, and The Vampire Diaries. She appeared in The Peacemaker (1997) starring George Clooney and Nicole Kidman, and About Sunny (2011) alongside Lauren Ambrose. She was also featured in the HBO TV movies Gia (1998) with Angelina Jolie, and Lackawanna Blues (2005) with Macy Gray, Mos Def, Terrence Howard, and Louis Gossett Jr.

The busy performer is especially grateful for an act of kindness she experienced six years ago while working on House M.D. She and her husband were adopting a child who was about to be born in Ohio and the producers rearranged her schedule so she could catch a plane. She arrived just in time to be greeted by the birth-mother's mom. "She took my hand," Porter remembers. "This is a woman I had never met before, and we went into the birthing room. She and I held hands behind the birth mother's head and we all breathed and helped push Jack out into the world, and I got to hold him first. And that's how my baby boy came into the world." Porter was back at work with House creator, David Shore, in Chicago last month to shoot the pilot for his new legal drama, Doubt.

Next up is a return to the supernatural backwaters of Bon Temps, where Porter will once again sink into the spiteful fury of True Blood's Lettie Mae and exorcize the stress that her dual life as mom and working professional inevitably brings. "Last season," she grins, "I was enjoying myself on Newsroom and I remember calling up my manager and going, 'I feel like chewing up some scenery. Come on, let's see if True Blood needs me!'"

Read the full interview at Iconic Interview: Conversations with the Creative Community. True Blood premieres on June 16th and The Newsroom on July 14th, both on HBO.

Hall).

"A better person would feel bad about LaGuerta's death, but the truth is, it solved all my problems," Dexter says at the start of the three-minute "Dexter" trailer.
