America's Next Top Model: Premiere

There's no Janice! Self-proclaimed (and formerly in real life too) supermodel Janice Dickerson is not a judge this year on America's Next Top Model. I was shocked because I hadn't heard this news before. I knew that Janice and Tyra didn't always get along and that Janice was pursuing other things, but I hadn't heard that she'd split from the show. And her replacement was even more of a shock...Twiggy! Yeah, Twiggy. For like a second I thought I was going to miss Janice and her "honesty," but then I realized you don't really need someone like Janice on Top Model. Mainly because everyone in the modeling business is pretty honest. That's what they're famous for -- being cruelly honest. Hell, even Tyra (America's Sweetheart) will look you in the face and tell you you need to lose 10 pounds and get your eyebrows waxed. So honestly, I don't think Janice will be missed. I embrace Twiggy (and it doesn't take much stretching to embrace her...the girl is still skiiiiiiiny.)Twiggy joins America's Next Top Model

Rail-thin 60s fashion model Twiggy is replacing Janice Dickinson on the UPN hit America's Next Top Model. This is a rather interesting development. It's like Tony Bennett replacing Paula Abdul on American Idol. Which, come to think of it, wouldn't be a bad idea. American Idol: The Ooops someone f-ed up episode

We wouldn't have to sit through a
retread of last night's performances if some intern somewhere hadn't
messed up the phone numbers for viewers to call to vote for their
favorite idol during last night's episode. There was even a sign in the audience asking not to fire the poor schmuck who made the mistake. You could tell Simon did
not want to be there. Having another show tomorrow must really mess
up the weekly boys night out that Ryan, Randy and Simon partake in.
Refer to my review of last night's show for the same reaction we had
tonight. I'm still a bit fuzzy how no one picked up on Constantine's
performance actually being really good technically. Otherwise not
much changed. I think Jessica got a boost from this second showing
but everyone else looked worse the second time around including
Anthony, Nadia (who both my better half and I think is better looking than anyone on America's Next Top Model), Nikko and even Scott. But in the end
Mikalah is still likely to leave tomorrow. This wreaks havoc in my TiVo scheduling along with an Apprentice time change. Argh.
