The Good Wife Affairs of State Recap['The Good Wife' - 'Affairs of State']

Just going to put this out there right now: Please let Parker Posey come back to 'The Good Wife.'

'The Good Wife' seems to have gotten its groove back after stumbling out of the gate with the first few episodes of Season 3. In 'Affairs of State,' Alicia and Caitlin worked to protect their client from rape and murder charges as the State Department went back and forth about his diplomatic immunity to the benefit of Cary. Meanwhile, Eli used Kalinda to vet his ex-wife, Vanessa (Posey), who wanted to run for political office.

by Michael Hogan, posted Oct 31st 2011 12:10AM
Brody and CarrieThis was a family-oriented episode of Showtime's 'Homeland': We met Carrie's profanity-spewing Dad, Saul's long-suffering wife, and a terrorist who was willing to give up a key piece of intelligence in order to save eight family members, including his wife and kids. Yes, everybody is struggling to balance their family and professional obligations -- for Saul (Mandy Patinkin) and Carrie (Claire Danes), that means protecting the world from bad guys, but what does it mean for Sergeant Brody (Damian Lewis)? Is he really just struggling to adjust to life back at home after eight years in captivity, or is Carrie right that he's slowly and stealthily setting the stage for a follow-up to 9/11?

Starting this week, AOL TV's Brody-o-Meter will gauge the rescued Marine sergeant's likelihood of being a sleeper agent for the Taliban on a 100 percent scale. Read on to find out this week's score!

'Nikita' Season 2, Episode 6 Recap

by Laura Prudom, posted Oct 29th 2011 8:25AM
Nikita and MichaelAs a show -- and as a character -- 'Nikita' exists to defy expectations; whether it concerns illegitimate children, long-lost parents or potentially damaging secrets, whenever you think the series is about to duck, it weaves instead.

Much was made of the introduction of Nikita's biological father, but nothing is ever as simple as it appears, and instead of finding some sense of identity, our heroine was merely reminded of how long Percy's reach is. Even from his plastic prison, the ex-Division head proved capable of manipulating everyone around him, from Alex and Amanda right through to the seemingly untouchable Nikita, Michael and Birkhoff.

But despite her emotional setbacks, the episode's final moments demonstrated just how far Nikita has already evolved since last season -- she clearly learned from her mistakes with Alex and decided, despite her fears and insecurities, to trust Michael with the truth about Max.

Jason Mewes and Alex House on 'Todd and the Book of Pure Evil' Season 2

by Annette Bourdeau, posted Oct 28th 2011 12:30PM
At the moment, Alex House is about as close to nerd heaven as you can get. The rising star of the Space hit 'Todd and the Book of Pure Evil' is chillin' on the lawn outside of Fan Expo 2011, taking in the elaborate costumes alongside his childhood hero and current co-star/real-life buddy, Jason Mewes ('Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back').

The unlikely duo may have 13 years separating them (Mewes is 37, House is 24), but you wouldn't know it by looking at them. Mewes is as fresh-faced and youthful as he was in 'Clerks,' shot 17 years ago when House was just a wee first-grader. The two buds are about to head into the Expo to peruse the finest wares the geek world has to offer. House is particularly intent on finding some elusive 'Game of Thrones' cards, and maybe even an action figure or two.

ABC Comedies Hit Series High Ratings

by Chris Harnick, posted Oct 27th 2011 3:30PM
Happy Endings Ratings HighIt's ah-mah-zing what a little World Series rain delay can do for shows on other networks.

'The Middle,' 'Suburgatory' and 'Happy Endings' all reached ratings highs thanks to a distinct lack of new episodes across the other major broadcast networks.

'The Middle' attracted 10.2 million viewers and had a 3.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Freshman comedy 'Suburgatory' had a 3.4 18-49 rating and dipped a bit in total viewers to 9.8 million. A 'Modern Family' rereun did 11.4 million viewers and a 4.4 rating and a new 'Happy Endings' episode was watched by 8.3 million viewers with a respectable 3.5 rating.

EXCLUSIVE 'Supernatural' Sneak Peek: It's Double Trouble For the Winchesters (VIDEO)

by Laura Prudom, posted Oct 26th 2011 3:50PM
Sam and Dean WinchesterWhere's an enchanted rabbit's foot when you need one? Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) are having a seriously long streak of bad luck ... we'd estimate about six and a half seasons' worth.

If this exclusive sneak peek at the promo for this week's 'Supernatural' is any indication, things are going to get way worse before they get better.

In 'Slash Fiction' (Friday, 9PM ET on The CW), our heroes find themselves on the run and forced off the grid after two Leviathans clone them and embark on a 'Pulp Fiction'-esque killing spree using their very attractive faces. Ordinarily, we'd be on board with twice the Winchester goodness, but in this case, we like our men a little less homicidal.

Hit the jump for our sneak peek at this week's extended promo clip, then check out our interview with executive producer Sera Gamble for a look at what else is coming up this season.

Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer Blast Bruno Tonioli for Rude Remarks

by Catherine Lawson, posted Oct 26th 2011 7:15AM
Chaz Bono and Lacey SchwimmerHas Maksim Chmerkovskiy talking back to Len Goodman opened up the floodgates for more dancer vs. judge spats? After the furor surrounding the Maks vs. Len bust-up on 'Dancing With the Stars' Monday, emotions were running high on last night's results show, and the spotlight moved to judge Bruno Tonioli vs. Chaz Bono.

After the show, the newly eliminated Bono and pro dance partner Lacey Schwimmer were gracious in defeat, but had harsh words for Tonioli backstage. And Bono's fiercely protective mother Cher came out swinging on Twitter to lambast the Italian judge.

The reason for all the anger? On Monday Tonioli decribed Bono's 'Phantom of the Opera'-inspired performance as "a cute little penguin trying to be a big menacing bird of prey." Coming after a previous critique when he said watching the pair "was like watching a little Ewok dance with Princess Leia," Schwimmer decided she'd had enough. "He got under scored again," she Tweeted, "and tonights comments were the cherry on top. Having a judge refer to him as an animal every Week is so rude and unnecessary."

'The X Factor' Recap: The Judges Choose The Top 12 (VIDEO)

by Laura Prudom, posted Oct 26th 2011 3:00AM
X FactorThere were some controversial choices made during the judges' houses round of 'The X Factor,' but our mentors had the chance to right many wrongs with this week's live elimination show, as each category had to narrow their finalists down to three in order to proceed to America's vote next week.

Up until tonight, the groups seemed like the weakest category by a mile, but smart song choices and confident choreography helped Paula up the ante and raise her category to the standard of the soloists -- though I doubt even the smooth moves of the Stereo Hogzz can compete with the likes of Drew, Josh or Stacy.

Join us after the jump to find out who made it into the top 12 to compete for your votes next week.

'The X Factor' to Cut Five Acts on Tonight's First Live Show

by Catherine Lawson, posted Oct 25th 2011 7:25AM
'The X Factor' judgesHaving faced accusations of being boring and of spinning out meager action for far too long, 'The X Factor' producers have decided to ramp up the action for tonight's first live show. Their anti-boredom solution? A mass cull. Of contestants, that is. (Superfluous-seeming host Brian Dunkleman Steve Jones is not, contrary to rumors, being fired: "Our Welshie is staying for the long haul.")

A message on the show's official Twitter page reads: "Breaking news! 5 of the 17 acts will be eliminated by the judges on 10/25." As tonight's live show will clock in at a mammoth two and a half hours long, that's roughly one elimination per pulse-quickening 30 minutes.

The surviving 12 acts will perform for the public vote on another live show, airing Wednesday November 2. That will be followed by a live results show on Thursday November 3.

Maks vs. Len: 'Dancing With the Stars' Contestants Speak Out

by Catherine Lawson, posted Oct 25th 2011 6:15AM
Maks and Hope Solo, 'DWTS'The oft-shirtless Maksim Chmerkovskiy's always filled the role of 'Dancing With the Stars' bad boy, and he can be relied upon to have at least one big outburst each season, with his anger usually directed toward head judge Len Goodman. Last night he reached boiling point and again lashed out at Len after he criticized Maks' and partner Hope Solo's rumba.

When Maks questioned Len's credentials, the head judge said "I've been in this business for nearly 50 years," to which Maks quipped "Maybe it's time to go." Things escalated after Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli tried to intervene, and Maks said "Everybody on that balcony has been dying and killing themselves only to hear your guy's a little judgmental comments [sic]. ... I am not being disrespectful, I'm protecting my partner."

Up until that point it was just between Maks and the judges, but then did the Ukrainian take it too far? When he told host Brooke Charvet that "With all due respect, this is my show, I help make it what it is," the look on fellow pro dancer Derek Hough's face in the background was priceless. So, what did the other dancers think of his outburst? And does Maks regret saying what he did?

'Gossip Girl' Season 5, Episode 5 Recap: Top 5 OMG Moments

by Laura Prudom, posted Oct 25th 2011 12:00AM
Louis and Blair['Gossip Girl' - 'The Fasting and the Furious']

You'd think with all the fashion flying around the Upper East Side, those skinny socialites would be used to starving themselves -- but apparently any time there's a fast, the VIPs forget to mind their Ps and Qs, leading to some serious social faux pas (in front of a tabloid journalist, no less).

This week's 'Gossip Girl' found our Queen B. in a right royal predicament, as her baby drama threatened to capsize her burgeoning relationship with Louis' high-maintenance family. We knew Sophie was taking the impending visit from the stork a little too calmly -- and we were feeling distinctly uncomfortable at the possibility that we might have to start thinking of her as a nice person -- so the appearance of a ridiculous pre-nup was a welcome relief that downgraded her straight back to Wicked Witch status.

Join us after the jump for our five favorite moments from episode five.
