'Gossip Girl' - 'It's A Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad World' Recap
by Laura Prudom, posted May 4th 2010 10:02AM
(S03E20) "You wanted to see a Blair Waldorf take-down? Well cross me again, and you'll experience one firsthand." - BlairGreetings, 'Gossip' junkies; it's been a busy week for our scandalous socialites on the Upper East Side, so there's plenty of dirt to discuss.
Is it just me, or did the fallout from last week's Serena/Jenny showdown seem less nuclear Armageddon and more Cold War anticlimax? Temperatures were definitely icy in the van der-Humphrey household, but the only missiles launched were verbal barbs, and that's no fun -- our blondes were too busy being passive aggressive to get down to the real cat fighting, and now it seems that Jenny's set her sights on the other man in Serena's life instead, albeit for a very different reason.

(S03E19) "You and I loved each other, and then you broke my heart; I've been doing everything possible not to face that fact. I'm gonna kiss somebody someday, and when I do, it'll be for me." Blair to Chuck. After the last cute-but-filler episode of 'Gossip Girl', it was nice to see our favorite Upper East Siders going full throttle and giving us some long-awaited closure this week; we were treated to a make-up, a break-up and a wake-up, and all three were long overdue.
Forget ornithology, in NYC, we're firmly focused on skank-watching, and thanks to Little J, our binoculars have been getting a major work-out over the past few episodes. This week saw Jenny stepping up her game in a way that would make Channing Tatum jealous, even going so far as to enlist the help of a certain Basstard in her attempt to pry Nate out of Serena's distracted arms.
William Baldwin Talks New Role on 'Gossip Girl'
by Andrew Scott, posted Apr 26th 2010 2:00PM
The search for Serena's father is officially over. After being MIA for nearly three seasons, 'Gossip Girl''s William van der Woodsen (played by William Baldwin) makes a surprise visit on the Upper East Side tonight, where he's reunited with Serena, Eric and -- wait for it -- Lily's current husband, Rufus.
How does his long-awaited reunion with Serena go? What trouble might he have in store for Rufus? And what happens when Eric comes out of the closet?
In an exclusive interview, Baldwin spoke to TV Squad to give us the rundown on his three-episode arc, which begins tonight at 9PM ET on the CW.
'Gossip Girl' - 'The Unblairable Lightness of Being' Recap
by Laura Prudom, posted Apr 13th 2010 10:02AM

Oh, what tangled webs those Upper East Siders weave; we can always count on 'Gossip Girl' to squeeze a scandal out of any special occasion, which, this week, happened to be Dorota's shotgun wedding.
Turns out that Mommy and Daddy Dorota are the traditional types, and their plans for an impromptu visit to the Big Apple to see their daughter seem to necessitate some immediate (and lavish) nuptials -- what better way to distract ma and pa from the fact that their little angel has been sneakily hiding her pregnancy from them, like any self-respecting career girl?

'Gossip Girl' - 'Inglorious Bassterds' Recap
by Isabelle Carreau, posted Apr 6th 2010 1:22AM
(S03E17) "He is sitting down with Satan this morning." - Blair about ChuckMark your calendars, everyone, because all the teen/tweens of the show were in the same building at the same time! That even includes Eric, who finally returned to the show.
But that wasn't the important event of the episode. Actually, Nate's birthday party and Vanessa and Dan's relationship problems were only filler when compared to what happened between

(S03E16) "I'm a firm believer in second chances." - EleanorI'm a believer in second chances, as well, but some people don't deserve second chances. Where 'Gossip Girl' is concerned, two of these people are Jack and Agnes. Both are bad news and only bring pain to our favorite characters.
Thankfully, the show brought back two beloved recurring characters that bring some balance to the dark side brought by Agnes and Jack: Eleanor and Dorota. How long has it been since we last saw those two? Long enough for Eleanor to have a complete new line of clothes ready to show the world and for Dorota to be ready to pop!
'Gossip Girl' - 'The Sixteen Year Old Virgin' Recap

(S03E15) "Rufus is driving Jenny right into Damien's creepy arms." - Serena to Nate
This week's Jenny-centric episode made me notice how I missed seeing the entire gang working together towards a common goal. However, Chuck and Blair were left on the sidelines since he was occupied by Jack, Elizabeth, a lawsuit and a boycott.
No matter, it was refreshing to see Serena, Nate, Dan, Vanessa, Lily and Rufus all work hand in hand in order to locate Jenny and bring her back to safety -- location also known as "the loft where Jenny will be grounded for life."
'Gossip Girl' - 'The Lady Vanished' Recap
by Isabelle Carreau, posted Mar 16th 2010 1:05AM

(S03E14) "Whatever she has to say, it's better than not knowing." - Serena about Elizabeth
Chuck's quest to learn more about Elizabeth continued with the help of Blair, Nate and Serena. The latter took Chuck's quest to heart, as it was similar to her trying to find her father and get to know him. Without Serena, we wouldn't have discovered the truth about Elizabeth (more on that after the jump).
The episode also featured Jenny's downfall, Lily making a discovery about Rufus, and Vanessa and Dan making a decision about their relationship. Good thing the Elizabeth storyline was intriguing, because the Vanessa and Dan scenes were just awful and I have only one word to sum up my feelings about them: belch!
'Gossip Girl' - 'The Hurt Locket' Recap

(S03E13) "Time changes everything." - Gossip GirlIt seems like a season ago when we last saw our favorite Upper Eastsiders, no? The last new episode aired on December 7, which was three months ago! That's as long as we have to wait between a season finale and a season premiere!!! Our patience will be rewarded with ten consecutive weeks of fresh episodes!
'The Debarted' may have aired a lifetime ago, and if you missed the recap at the beginning of the episode, you may not remember much of what happened. Well, maybe except that jaw-dropping moment near the end where Chuck finds an unidentified woman at Bart's grave. Is she his mother?
CW Renews 'Vampire Diaries,' 'Gossip Girl,' '90210,''Supernatural' and 'Top Model'
by Bob Sassone, posted Feb 16th 2010 2:00PM
Earlier today I posted about 'Supernatural' possibly being picked up for a sixth season. Well, you can take the 'possibly' out of that because it's definite now: the show will be coming back this fall, along with four other shows. The four shows that will join 'Supernatural' on The CW schedule are 'Vampire Diaries,' 'Gossip Girl,' 'America's Next Top Model' and '90210.' None of those really surprise me, though if '90210' had been canceled I wouldn't have fallen off of my sofa.I know, I know, 'Smallville' fans are saying "what about 'Smallville?!?' and 'Life Unexpected' fans are saying the exact same thing about that show. Just because the network hasn't said that those shows are coming back doesn't mean that they've been canceled. Though I guess it does mean that they're on the fence about them, which is understandable in the case of 'Smallville,' which has already been around for several seasons.
Right now on Cinematical
by Kona Gallagher, posted Feb 14th 2010 11:05AM
The folks at our sister site, Cinematical, are working hard to give you news and reviews of the best -- and worst -- the silver screen has to offer. Here are some of their musings on the latest blockbusters, indies, and everything in between:- Even though Sandra Bullock is nominated for an Academy Award for her role in 'The Blind Side,' it certainly doesn't mean that she can't make mistakes. Cinematical discusses Bullock's Oscar nom as well as her simultaneous Razzie nomination for 'All about Steve.'
- I haven't heard good things about the new film 'Valentine's Day,' although as a sucker for star-studded ensemble casts, that certainly isn't going to stop me from seeing it. However, I'm not sure if it's a good idea to make a franchise out of the thing.
- Cinematical reviews 'Twelve' and calls it "a very special episode of 'Gossip Girl,'" which is fitting, as it stars 'Gossip Girl''s Chace Crawford.
- I'm not sure that the fact that Benecio Del Toro reportedly mumbles his way through 'Wolfman' makes me want to see it.
- Look out world, there's a new Coppola in town: Gia Coppola, Francis Ford's granddaughter, is taking a stab at directing.
Review: Gossip Girl - The Debarted
by Isabelle Carreau, posted Dec 8th 2009 12:40AM
(S03E12) "I know today is the anniversary of his death." - Blair to ChuckAs Ryan said in comments to last week's post, "The Treasure of Serena Madre" would've been a great last episode of 2009 with all of the drama and excitement it contained, as well as the few cliffhangers. However, The CW decided otherwise and aired one more episode before the show goes on hiatus.
Now that I've seen "The Debarted," I agree with Ryan. The network should have ended 2009 with "The Treasure of Serena Madre" and air this week's installment in January as the sole new episode before the Olympics since it also ended with a few cliffhangers. Don't you agree?
Review: Gossip Girl - The Treasure of Serena Madre
by Isabelle Carreau, posted Dec 1st 2009 1:02AM

(S03E11) It's Thanksgiving time on the Upper East Side, and you know what that means? Loads of drama and awkward situations. This special episode also marks the return of a few of the show's mothers, including Jessica's mother, Blair's mother, and Lily's mother CeCe.
Sadly, due to a prior engagement, I will not be able to offer you a full review of the episode in due time. Please take a few minutes to post your reactions to the episodes in the comments section below. In my review of the December 7 episode, I'll post my comments about "The Treasure of Serena Madre" and may include a few of your own comments.
So don't be shy. Let the other TV Squad readers know what you thought of this week's episode. What did you think of all the mother drama? Was Jenny's revenge against Eric too much? How about the damaging info Chuck has on his friends? Share your reactions, theories, and comments below.
The last episode before the holiday break, "The Debarted," will air next week on December 7.
Review: Gossip Girl - The Last Days of Disco Stick
by Isabelle Carreau, posted Nov 17th 2009 1:42AM

(S03E10) "Vanessa, you are in love with Dan." - Olivia
Last week's threesome scenes left a few viewers wanting more. This week, viewers were not only treated to more footage from the threesome scenes, but to a lot of drama caused by said Olivia-Dan-Vanessa threesome experiment. As expected, the threesome made Dan and Vanessa's feelings for one another resurface, even if they didn't clearly admit it or deny it.
The episode also featured a guest performance by singer Lady Gaga (pictured above in a behind the scenes photo with Penn Badgley and Leighton Meester).
