Night Stalker
The Night Stalker coming to SciFi
Remember when it was reported that Night Stalker was gone to TV cancellation heaven? Well, not so fast. In a deal between ABC and Touchtone, SciFi will be breathing new life into the series when it returns there next summer. The folks at SciFi must have seen something many others hadn't seen in the series, because it certainly wasn't all that well received.[via Cynopsis]
Night Stalker lost episode available on iTunes
Hey! Good news if you're one of the three or four Night Stalker fans out there: the series was canceled before the second part of a two-part episode aired, but the lost episode is now available for your viewing pleasure on iTunes. Hopefully the throng of Night Stalker fans rushing to download the episode won't break the iTunes servers or anything. If you're one of those Night Stalker fans who was really dying to know what happened, hey, no offense. Being a Night Stalker fan is kinda like being an Ashlee Simpson fan -- it's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it.

BREAKING NEWS: Night Stalker canceled
Frank Spotnitz, the creator of Night Stalker, confirms on his website that the show has been canceled after airing only six episodes. It seems as though the rest of America agrees with a certain TV Squad blogger who just can't stomach the show any longer. Last week's episode got a measly 3.94 million viewers and ranks as the least-watched show on all of ABC. I gave this show a try because Frank Spotnitz, formerly of The X-Files, created it. But, I couldn't even get through the first episode. No official announcement yet from ABC.[Via The Futon Critic]
Night Stalker: Do I have to keep watching this show?
That's it, I give up. I gave this show several episodes to grab me, or at least not bore me/turn me off, and it's just not working. So now I'm going to use my Thursday nights at 9 for something more constructive, like doing my laundry or downloading porn.
Feel free to use the comments below to discuss the show amongst yourselves. Maybe every Wednesday night at 10 I'll put up a post so everyone can talk about the episode if they want, we'll see what happens. But from here on out, it's bye-bye Night Stalker for me.
Night Stalker: The Five People You Meet In Hell
You know why I dislike this show? I don't believe any of the characters, I don't believe any of the situations, it's soiling a cool memory from my childhood, and each of the plots of the first two episodes seem forced. That's only four things to dislike, but that's a lot when you're talking about the aspects of a TV show or movie, especially a new one. But that's how I'd summarize my feelings about the new Night Stalker.
Night Stalker: Pilot
First reaction? Eh. They don't use anything from the original except the title and the names Kolchak and Vincenzo. Not the original theme (no theme song at all actually, unless you count some weird chime as a theme song - what is it with shows not having theme songs nowadays?), not the original name of the news bureau (the INS; here it's The Beacon), and leading man Stuart Townshend has all the personality and wit of a box of Triscuits.
