'2011 Video Game Awards': Charlie Sheen Presents Best Shooter (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 12th 2011 4:30AM
Charlie Sheen, '2011 Video Game Awards'When you think of video games, you may not think first of Charlie Sheen. But Spike TV invited him to the 2011 'Video Game Awards' (Sat., 8PM ET on Spike) to present the award for Best Shooter, which was won by 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.' So Sheen explained to the audience why he was there.

He started with a graphic explanation of a tense showdown in a typical first person shooter video game. It was inevitable that he was going to joke that this was just another day in his personal life, which he did. His adventure was interrupted by a call from his agent.

Mitt Romney $10,000 bet - 'ABC News Republican Debate'It was the bet heard around the world on Saturday's 'Republican Debate' (Sat., 9PM ET on ABC). After Rick Perry again brought up the claim that in the first printing of Mitt Romney's book 'No Apology,' he was for individual mandates nationwide, Romney again refuted the claim. Finally, he decided to put his considerable wealth where his mouth is.

"10,000 bucks?" he said, offering a wager with a handshake.

"I'm not in the betting business," Perry countered, but the offer of it alone set up a storm of responses on Twitter and from both sides of the political spectrum.

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 12th 2011 3:30AM
'Boss' season finale - 'Choose'It was a short first season for 'Boss' (Fri., 10PM ET on Starz), but the gubernatorial campaign proved to be filled with tension and drama. And that was just the surface that the voters saw. Behind the scenes, things were even darker as Kane's desperation to hold onto his mayoral seat led him to take some very drastic and tragic actions.

The betrayal from within his office to see him thrown out of office finally reached the man who was perhaps his closest friend and advisor. For 30 years, Ezra Stone has advised Kane and stood by his side as he grew through the ranks to rule Chicago with an iron fist.

'The Amazing Race' - 'Finale'The final three teams took off from Panama headed back to the United States for the final leg of this edition of 'The Amazing Race' (Sun., 8PM ET On CBS). When the final destination city was revealed to be Atlanta, all three remaining teams immediately knew this would give an edge to Marcus and Amani because that's their hometown. Was it enough for the married couple to win?

!!SPOILER ALERT!!

Unlike some past seasons, it looked like one pivotal moment dropped one team behind, eliminating any chance of a close finish. At the flight simulator, it was Marcus and Amani who struggled to land the plane and essentially cost themselves a shot at winning.

Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas Bicker Like an Old Married Couple (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 12th 2011 2:00AM
Antonion Banderas & Salma Hayek, 'The Graham Norton Show'There is an evident closeness between Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek in interviews. But perhaps they are starting to get on one another's nerves with all the press they've been doing for 'Puss in Boots.' On 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10PM ET on BBC America) the pair were bickering like an old married couple.

It got so bad that fellow guest Jimmy Carr had to interject a few times, finally offering up a solution. Hayek kept teasing Banderas for his claims -- which were true, like training with the Spanish Olympic swordfighting team for his role as Zorro -- and his accent.

'Luck,' Dustin Hoffman and Horses: A Few Thoughts on David Milch's New HBO Drama

by Maureen Ryan, posted Dec 12th 2011 1:50AM
Though it doesn't officially premiere until Jan. 29, the pilot for 'Luck,' David Milch's new drama, debuted Sunday on HBO, and if you caught it, I'm betting it made you want to go to the racetrack.

Twice in the course of 'Luck's' first hour, we got heart-stopping glimpses of what it's like to be inside a horse race; director Michael Mann gave us a jockey's view of pounding hooves, straining muscles and dangerous maneuvers. How glorious those scenes were.

Who knows how Mann put his cameras in the center of the action, but his doing so was essential to 'Luck's' success. We got to see the poetry that draws people to this often brutal world; we got to see why they can't leave it, no matter how much time and money they've lost to it.

(Warning: I'll be discussing details of the pilot in the first impressions below; jump out now if you don't want to know what transpired in 'Luck's' first hour.)

Alternate episode title: How Alicia learned to deal with life sans sex. Subtitle: Facebook ruins more lives!

After a seemingly slamdunk case ends in a guilty verdict, the Lockhart/Gardner team goes into overdrive to find out what happened in the jury room.

Following several trips to the button lady, an arrest, a wonderful scene between Alicia and Kalinda (more on that below) and multiple visits to the judge, our hero defense attorney saved the day. How? Because the judge friended a jury. Darn that Facebook Facebranch!

'The Good Wife' loves its social media and technology stories.

And now the meat of the episode ...

'Once Upon a Time' Season 1, Episode 7 Recap: A Huntsman's Broken Heart (VIDEO)

Jamie Dornan['Once Upon a Time' - 'The Heart is a Lonely Hunter']

A kiss can be a very powerful thing in the world of 'Once Upon a Time' -- we've seen kisses bestow memories, save lives and this week (however inadvertently), even end them.

We were warned that death would strike during the midseason finale, but I was curious to see how someone might get away with murder in Storybrooke while presumably being able to avoid punishment.

This week's episode gave us a suitably fantastical answer to that quandary, utilizing the magic of fairytale land without needing to implicate anyone in the crime.

'Spartacus: Vengeance': First Look at the New Season of the Gladiator Drama (VIDEO)

by AOL TV Staff, posted Dec 9th 2011 1:30PM
Starz has released the first few minutes from the first episode of 'Spartacus: Vengeance,' which arrives Jan. 27. The clip is introduced by new 'Spartacus' star Liam McIntyre, who has taken on the lead role in the new season of the gladiator epic.

Who would have predicted that the first scene of the new season of the cult hit would depict the gladiators, who are on the run from the Roman authorities, having a tea party?

Kidding. Of course there's a whole lot of bloodshed in the video. We wouldn't have it any other way, right?

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 9th 2011 6:00AM
Jeremy Renner, 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'Just listening to Jeremy Renner talk about all the things Tom Cruise wanted to do with him in one day is exhausting. On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (Weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC), he talked about going shark diving, and indoor skiing with him within a four hour span.

Afterwards, Renner said Cruise suggested, "You wanna go go-cart racing." When that was rejected, he said, "Let's go surf in the sand dunes," but Renner was thinking maybe do some of these things tomorrow.
