'V' left the airwaves for a while (just like 'FlashForward') and it returns tomorrow at 10. Are you going to watch it?
Now comes word from The Futon Critic that ABC will pretty much burn off the last two episodes of this season next month. The two episodes are titled "Our Driving Issues" (March 10) and "Our Thanks" (March 17).

ABC still hasn't said anything about the show coming back. Would you like to see another season?
When 'Survivor' host Jeff Probst renews his contract, it's usually for two years (which comes out to be four seasons of the show). But when he renewed his contract with CBS and the show last week, he only renewed it for one year (two seasons). I'm not sure if this is because he doesn't want to commit to several seasons of the show or if it's a negotiating/contract thing. Could 'Survivor' continue without Probst as host? Or is he too big a part of the show?

'Survivor: Heroes & Villains' debuts on Thursday.
In fact, CBS has a special tonight at 8pm, 'Greatest Super Bowl Commercials of All-Time.' Apple's '1984' ad, which introduced the Mac, is often cited as the best Super Bowl ad ever. Is it? I love it and it's certainly in the running and iconic. Some people say this is the best ad ever, period.
A lot of people grew up watching Dick Clark host the show from a very cold Times Square, but in recent years medical problems have forced Clark to co-host the show with American Idol's Ryan Seacrest. But do they call the show New Year's Rockin' Eve or ABC's New Year's Rockin' Eve or New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest or maybe Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve?

No. The title of the show is Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2010. Actually, the hour before the big ball drop throws another word in there: Dick Clark's Primetime New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2010. The new season - the 23rd! - of MTV's The Real World debuts tonight at 10. I used to watch this show religiously, but that was a long, long time ago. I missed the first season for some reason, but I really loved seasons 2 and 3 (L.A. and San Francisco). It was actually compelling TV back then, before media-savvy young people went on the show just to get their 15 minutes of reality fame. So I probably won't watch the D.C. season.
I don't know how "important" her first episode was. She's filled in on the show before and obviously wouldn't suddenly start yelling expletives or start drooling. She handled herself fine (though if I want to see a chick read the news I watch Katie on CBS). What did everyone else think?

We're in the middle of December now and we're all watching our favorite Christmas movies or animated specials (either on TV or via DVD), so I thought I'd ask which is your favorite. (I know, I didn't include every single Christmas special ever made, but that's why God created the word "other").
Just some niggling thoughts that weren't really addressed in the two-part wrap up.

1. Why did Joey Kazarinski choose to kill Monk with poison?
Joey was a killer for hire. He used a bomb to kill Trudy, but shot Dr. Nash. They never said how Wendy Stroud was killed, just that she was buried under the sundial at the judge's house. So, when the judge offered Joey another payday -- killing Monk -- why didn't Joey choose a direct approach and shoot Adrian? Or he could have blown up Monk's apartment. There were any number of ways to kill him, but poisoning the wipes was perhaps the most complicated. And a ricin derivative? How did he manage to acquire that? If it had been arsenic or something, that could have been bought at a hardware store. They never really explained the poison or the reason for that method of murder.

He tells GQ that he's going to bring the hit British show The X Factor to the U.S. and set it in Las Vegas. But wait, there's more! He also wants to stream the show over the web as a pay-per-view event! He expects to get 30 million people to watch every week.

Would you pay to watch this?
It was the hot show when it was on Bravo, but it seems like more of a niche hit now that it's on Lifetime. Tonight is the season finale. Who do you think will win, Irina, Althea, or Carol Hannah? Not should win, but who do you think will win?
In fact, 30,000 of them, according to the story at BBC News.

That seems like a lot to me, but I figured I'd ask TV Squad readers if they still watch one or not. Sometimes I'll watch a color movie in black and white (by turning off the color), to see how it looks and see if it gets any better (note: does not work with Pauly Shore movies).
Here's an interesting factoid: 46% of people who record TV shows don't fast forward through the commercials.

Now, I'm a natural skeptic when it comes to studies like this. I always wonder how the question was asked, the specifics, is the respondent lying or over/understating something, etc, but I often find myself not fast forwarding through ads because I'm doing something else at the time (writing an episode review, for example). How about you?
The columnists and pundits and fans have had their say, though. Some people defend him, some dislike him, and some aren't fazed by it at all.

But beyond the "creepy" factor of it (that's Dave's own word), what about the moral and/or legal side of it? Should Letterman be fired? Reprimanded? Will he be sued? Should people stop watching him? Should advertisers leave his show? Should one of the women come out and do a "Ten Things About Dating David Letterman" list?
