Add your own commentI was on a flight US Air last night, which never did take off. However, there was a male onboard who weighed a lot more than this guy and he was stuffed into one seat. In a rather alarming moment, the capt asked that certain rows shift to the rear so that "weight in the plane would be balanced" (not a comforting thing to hear on a plane....). Meanwhile, if this guy paid for 2 seats, he is entitled to 2 seats--- period/no argument/no case. The planes today are pretty much a mess; especially the smaller airlines. They are built for small crowds and very claustrophobic. If the airlines cannot get their acts together and decide what the rule of thumb is, then leave the public out of the corporate confusion. Make a rule and stick to it. And, if someone pays for 2 adjoining seats, it should not be an issue at all. Meanwhile, pray some of these planes are "weight balanced "enough to stay in the air. NEW ORLEANS: YOU GOT THE RIGHT IDEA. LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!
I don't think that this is what the problem is all about. He paid for two seats and is entitled to two seats and the comfort that he wants. He chose to take the plane with only one seat that was available. All I am curious about is the person who sat next to him on the plane. Isn't this person entitled to comfort? I don't know about you, but if I had someone sitting next to me on a plane, and yes they were able to put the arm rest down, I would expect the same curtesy from him and he would from me.
I am watching and reading about the situation with Kevin Smith. I understand that he bought two seats for his comfort. He was on standby and chose to take the plane with only one seat that was available. He was able to put the arm rest done and buckle himself into his seat. However, no one has made mention of the person that was sitting next to Mr. Smith. I am curious about this. How does this person feel about what happened.

Kevin Smith is a fat slob and I wouldn't want to sit by him on an airplane. I am tired of our wasting our money on trying to get our kids to eat healthy and then make a hero out of someone like Kevin. Shame on Southwest for trying to get him to forgive them. He is the problem not Southwest.
