The Buzz: Will Ferrell brings his raunch, over-the-top humor -- and love of sports comedies -- to the small screen. He teams with co- 'Anchorman' scribe Adam McKay, while McBride, who co-stars in Ferrell's upcoming 'Land of the Lost,' is one of the show's lead writers. Since it's on HBO, expect no-holds-barred crude comedy.

Who's In It: Danny McBride, John Hawkes, Katy Mixon

Where You've Seen Them: McBride is a longtime Ferrell friend, who enjoyed scene-stealing roles in two summer blockbusters: 'Pineapple Express' and 'Tropic Thunder.' In 'Eastbound and Down,' his first shot as a leading man, he hits it out of the park.

Hawkes, who plays Kenny's dimwitted, painfully gullible yet lovable assistant, was a big screen regular throughout the '90s who had breakout roles in 'Perfect Storm' and 'Identity' and is an HBO vet -- he had a recurring role on 'Deadwood.'

Breakout Star: Katy Mixon, who plays April Buchanon, the "southern belle" schoolteacher and former love interest of Kenny. Some might have caught her in 'Four Christmases,' but for the majority of 'Eastbound and Down' watchers, Mixon is the show's freshest face.

The Pitch: It's kind of like 'Talladega Nights' meets 'Major League 2.'


When to Watch It: New episodes air Sundays, 10:30 PM, on HBO.

Danny McBride is a great actor I love him in "Tropical Thunder" and "Pineapple express" HBO making a TV series staring him is a great idea! I have not watching this yet but when I get home tonight I am going to go online to dishonline.com and watch this because I have access to HBO GO and MAX GO on DISH online. A co-worker from DISH told me that customers that subscribe to Dish Platinum package can access over 3,000 films and EPIX programming online plus HBO and Cinemax customers can access HBO GO and MAX GO with access to over 1,800 titles not including all of your programming that you already get with DISH Network and some Hulu content.
