For Paula, 'VH1 Divas' marks yet another job opportunity since she left her 'American Idol' post earlier this summer. Here's a rundown of all the offers she's received -- both real and rumored.
'Drop Dead Diva'
In her first post-'Idol' move, Paula agreed to film a second guest spot on the hit Lifetime series 'Drop Dead Diva,' playing a judge who appears in Jane's (Brooke Elliott) subconscious. Paula's episodes are slated to air Sept. 13 and Oct. 11.
'Ugly Betty'Paula was reportedly in talks to play Mode Magazine's kooky new office temp, Helen, on ABC's 'Ugly Betty.' But by mid-August the deal fell through, due to a long list of demands made by the singer/actress (among them a private plane, according to the Ausiello Files). She's since been replaced by Emmy winner Kristen Johnston ('3rd Rock From the Sun'), who will begin her role in the show's Oct. 9 season premiere.
'So You Think You Can Dance'
Ex-'Idol' producer Nigel Lythgoe expressed immediate interest in having Paula appear on the Fox dance competition series 'So You Think You Can Dance' -- an offer she said she wouldn't rule out. "I'm a dancer, a choreographer. Dance is a love of mine," Paula told the AP.
'Dancing With the Stars'
During the TCA press tour, ABC President Steve McPherson said he would love to have Paula join 'Dancing With the Stars,' either as a judge or a contestant. The pair then met to discuss a number of options, claims TMZ, including her own variety show. In the meantime, Paula will have to hang up her dancing shoes ... for now. Last week, ABC revealed 'Dancing With the Stars'' season 9 roster, and her name was nowhere to be found.
