Back to TV's 11 Funniest Ladies in 2011
1. Zooey Deschanel, 'New Girl'
Fox
We knew Zooey Deschanel was quirky, we knew she could sing, and we knew she could be funny -- but who knew could she anchor a sitcom without being, well, too much? Not only is Zooey's brand of loopy sweetness charming on a weekly basis, her physical comedy skills and her overall versatility simply blew us away and helped make 'New Girl' fall's biggest hit. Far from overwhelming the show, Deschanel provided it with its delightfully goofy heart, and the cast that has gelled around her has blossomed into one of TV's most entertaining ensembles. We hope the 'New Girl' never moves out.
