I'm in Ice-T's trailer for a brief interview. He's a man that does not mince words.
"They're great, they're great," Ice said about new cast members Kelli Giddish and Danny Pino. "They're professionals. You gotta remember, I've worked with everybody. I did episodes with me and Chris where we had to go fight crime. I did a lot [of episodes] with Mariska. I make sure Mariska knows, all of her episodes she got Emmys for were Ice-T and her. Not her and Chris, her and Ice-T, goddammit. Sh--, I said, 'Goddammit you better say something next time you win something.' She's my dawg, me and her and Chris ... and Danny's dope. It's a good team It's a good team. I think that being in an ensemble cast you have to respect the power of your other actors, because whenever the show's on, right, if Mariska's on the screen, she's actually getting my paycheck. She's keeping my show going. When I'm on the screen and they're not, I'm taking care of them. So we all gotta work together. No one person, it's all of us. So, I'm very much about that. I like Danny. I think he's got a nice energy. The cool thing is, everyone's still unique."
