Back to Fall TV Preview: Returning Shows
'Boardwalk Empire'
HBO
Where We Left Off: Things seem to be going well for Nucky Thompson: he reunited with Margaret Schroeder and struck a bootlegging deal with Al Capone, Johnny Torrio and "Lucky" Luciano. But trouble lurks below the surface, as the Commodore, Nucky's scorned brother Eli and Jimmy Darmody hatched a plot to take Nucky down in last season's finale.
What's Next: HBO's new trailer doesn't give away much in the way of details, but the vibe feels darker than Season 1, with Nucky surrounded on all sides by conspirators, rivals and thieves. Jimmy told Nucky in Season 1 that you can't be half a gangster, but Nucky seems determined to try ... how long can his juggling act last?
Season 2 premieres Sun., Sept. 25, 9PM ET on HBO
