Where We Left Off: A woman was murdered prior to testifying in a high-profile rape case and Detectives Benson and Stabler investigated the crime, leading to a shootout in the SVU squad room. Stabler killed the daughter of the murder victim after she opened fire on the team.

What's Next: Big changes! Series stars Christopher Meloni and B.D. Wong will not return, but Diane Neal and Stephanie March will be back as ADAs Casey Novak and Alex Cabot. Detective Benson gets a promotion, plus Kelli Giddish and Danny Pino join the cast as two new detectives.
