'Up All Night'
NBC
The promise: How could any comedy with Maya Rudolph, Christina Applegate and Will Arnett go wrong? This is a comedy dream team!
Why I've given up: Rudolph's talk-show diva, Ava, needs to be either the crazy person that Applegate's character works for or a relatively sane girlfriend, but she can't be both, and watching the show try to make those split personalities work is painful. Some other aspects of the show feel forced as well, but the fact that 'Up All Night''s Ava problem appears to be getting worse rather than better has caused me to check out.
