Why he needs rescuing: I had my share of issues with how season 1 of this detective drama progressed, and especially how it ended, but I never wavered in my belief that Kinnaman was giving a tremendously interesting performance (some weeks, it was the only reason to tune in). It doesn't fill me with joy to know he'll be returning in the role in 2012; I don't trust the writers of the show to earn the character "twists" they appear to be so fond of.
