'Battlestar Galactica' (10PM, Sci Fi) It's the beginning of season 4.5, but it's also the beginning of the end for the show, as tonight's installment kicks off a string of 10 new episodes that will lead to the series finale. But (Star)buck up, 'BSG' devoted, because the remaining episodes promise to be epic (producers have hinted that several of them may even be super-sized), beginning with tonight's revelation of the final Cylon. Yep, no waiting around for this big reveal, as the identity of the fifth Cylon happens while Adama and the Colonial crew ponder the condition of Earth and get more than a little frakkin' freaked out over their shocking discovery. Syfy Eyes New 'Battlestar Galactica' Spinoff

Ever since Syfy's acclaimed hit 'Battlestar Galactica' went off the air last year, fans of the series have been looking for something to fill the void left by its absence. Now Syfy may finally have found a new show that fits the bill: 'Battlestar Galactica.' According to the Hollywood Reporter, Syfy is eying a return to the world of 'Battlestar Galactica' for a new spinoff. While details are still vague, the potential series is described as "a return to the franchise's space-opera roots." "We're looking for other ways to spin off 'Battlestar' beyond 'Caprica,'" Syfy development honcho Mark Stern told the Hollywood Reporter. "That world is so rich. We're sitting down with (executive producer) Ron Moore and his team. It would not necessarily be a traditional series."...

Comic-Con: Battlestar Galactica panel report

The Battlestar Galactica panel was really a celebration of Battlestar's women. The panel opened with a montage video featuring all the female characters swearing or, at least, saying "frak" alot following the weighty words, "Well-behaved women rarely make history."...

Coming Soon: Battlestar Galactica, the comic book

Well, you knew this was coming. The show is hot, hot, hot right now, and Dynamic Entertainment has announced that there will be a Battlestar Galactica comic book out this winter. [via TV Tattle]...

Battlestar is good, but should it have a different title?

Now here's an opinion that's sure to get the comments field going: author John Kenneth Muir really loves the new Battlestar Galactica. He thinks that the show deserves all of the accolades and awards and popularity that it has garnered in the past couple of years. But here's the thing: he doesn't think it should be called Battlestar Galactica: "...my problem begins and ends with the fact that it's called Battlestar Galactica. The original series has been used as a 'brand name' by Ron Moore to do something totally new, something unfaithful, something he wanted to do. That's fine, and some people obviously like what he's done very much. But it shouldn't be called Battlestar Galactica." Readers? [via Lee Goldberg]...

Battlestar Galactica + Queen = Battlestar Rhapsody

If you're anything like me (first of all, you have my deepest sympathy and secondly, some mild chafing down there is normal), you haven't had the patience to catch up with the brilliance that is Battlestar Galactica but that won't make this song any less funny. Comedy fanboy recording artist The Great Luke Ski has an eye for obscure musical references and turned Queen's classic stream-of-consciousness nightmare ballad into a near-complete retelling of Battlestar Galactica. A fan of the "great referencer" created the video below. ...

Promo for Battlestar Galactica: Razor movie - VIDEO

Last night, SciFi aired the first promo for the upcoming Battlestar Galactica movie and today it's up on YouTube. We all know Battlestar Galactica: Razor is about the Pegasus and what happened to it between the time the Cylons started a war and it met up with the Galactica. Our favorite characters (Starbuck, Admiral Adama, Apollo) are also in the movie so it appears to start as the war with the Cylons begins and then the Pegasus somehow gets separated from the rest of the group. Of course, the promo doesn't reveal much, but it was enough to wet whet my appetite for some new BSG. I'm particularly anxious to see another side of Admiral Cain, who was pretty rotten once she appeared on BSG. Also... notice all the female soldiers on the Pegasus. Battlestar Galactica: Razor airs on Sci Fi in November. Video is after the jump:...

Battlestar Galactica -- Texas style

I love Battlestar Galactica, Dallas and cheesy opening credit sequences where the cast stops and poses for the camera. That's why my favorite thing on the Internet this morning is this Battlestar Galactica/Dallas mashup video I found over at Galactica Sitrep. The funny thing is, this video really reveals BSG's '70s roots. The shot with the retro-looking (but modern) BSG logo popping up over the Dallas theme seems oddly appropriate. Kudos to the videomaker for including action shots featuring multiple Cylon Centurion models. The old school toasters mesh very well with the music. So does Lee Adama's season four Lorenzo Lamas hairdo, dontcha think?...
