Alex O'Loughlin and Jason Dohring Interview for 'Moonlight'

"I have to think that they'll pick us up, otherwise I'll just give up." When devoted fans get a chance to interview two vampires, be sure to bring earplugs. 'Moonlight' hasn't been renewed for a second season yet, but stars Alex O'Loughlin and Jason Dohring got a thunderous welcome at NY Comic Con. After a Q&A with the rowdy crowd, they talked to AOL TV about the show's future, a bloody fan campaign and vampire therapy. ALEX O'LOUGHLIN AND JASON DOHRING Q&A...

'Veronica Mars' Star Jason Dohring Joins 'Ringer'

Welcome back to TV (and our hearts), Logan Echolls. According to EW, 'Veronica Mars' star Jason Dohring has booked a recurring role on The CW's Sarah Michell Gellar-fronted 'Ringer.' Dohring will play Mr. Carpenter, a high school teacher to Juliet (Zoey Deutch), the stepdaughter to Gellar's Siobhan character. In the CW drama, Gellar plays a set of twins, Siobhan and Bridget. Bridget is recovering addict trying to get her life back together and Siobhan seemingly has it all. Seemingly being the key word. After 'Veronica Mars,' Dohring starred in 'Moonlight' and made guest appearances on 'Lie to Me,' 'CSI' and 'Party Down.'...

Moonlight's Jason Dohring woos fans on BlogTalkRadio

Everybody's talking about CBS's vampire private investigator show Moonlight. Moonlight's fans are sending garlic to producers and conducting blood drives in an attempt to force executives to knock the show off the bubble and into a second season. AOL's Kelly Woo had a chance to interview Alex O'Loughlin and Jasoh Dohring (Mick and Josef) at New York Comic Con recently, and both stars reported being overwhelmed (in a good way) with fans' dedication to the show. Dohring reported that he's sign up to give blood himself, because it's such an important thing to do anyway. I got a chance to talk to Jason Dohring, who plays 400+-year-old vampire Josef on the show, last night when he appeared on Shaun O'Mac's internet radio show on BlogTalkRadio (Bob Sassone from TV Squad appears on the show each Wednesday evening to talk TV, and Shaun is a great host-- you should definitely check out the show!). ...

Yet more recasting for CBS's Moonlight

Is there anyone left from the original cast of the new CBS show Moonlight? The latest cast member to leave: Amber Valletta. She plays Coraline, one of the vampires on the show. Or should I say "played." She has been replaced by Shannyn Sossamon. This comes after news that lead actress Shannon Lucio had left (replaced by Sophia Myles), followed by Rade Serbedzija (replaced by Jason Dohring, from Veronica Mars). Lead actor Alex O'Loughlin is staying with the show though, and this supposedly completes the reshuffling....

Here's one show you won't see on The CW this fall

I'm a fan of Washington, D.C.-based TV shows, so I'm sorry this show didn't make the cut for this fall's schedule on The CW (I guess the world was screaming for a Melrose Place update instead). It's Body Politic and stars Minka Kelly, Jay Hernandez, Jason Dohring, Gabrielle Union, and Tim Matheson. Thankfully, the internet can let us see some scenes from the pilot. [via The TV Addict]...

Newcomer cast as Brothers & Sisters long-lost sib

Who is the missing Walker sibling? For a year, the answer was Rebecca, but DNA has proven that that's not William Walker's unaccounted for child. It's a character named Ryan Lafferty and today a newcomer named Luke Grimes has been cast in the role. When the storyline revealed that there was a Ryan somewhere out there, rumors were rife that a big name would land the role. Jason Ritter and Jason Dohring were in the running, but Grimes is set to sign on the dotted line and his resume is pretty slim, just a couple of minor movies, Assassination of a High School President and All the Boys Love Mandy Lane....

Moonlight: Set visit and cast interviews

Yesterday I went to Warner Bros. studios in Burbank to visit the set of CBS's Moonlight. I must admit... with the exception of the pilot, I actually haven't watched the show. But after talking with the cast members, seeing the set, and hearing about the four episodes that will air starting April 25th, I think I might be a fan of Moonlight. And I know for sure there are some Moonlight fans here at TV Squad. You are going to love what I have in store for you after the jump. Read on and find out about my day at Stage 9 and Stage 14 of Warner Bros. and my interviews with Jason Dohring, Eric Winter, Sophia Myles, and *swoon* Alex O'Loughlin. Beware. There are some spoilers......

Moonlight: The Ringer

(S01E07) "It's like one of those true stories that sounds more like fiction."-- Morgan Vincent This was the best episode of Moonlight yet! Excellent. Everything about it was fantastic: It had a gripping storyline, well written, well performed. It was great! Of course, there were a couple of teeny inconsistencies, and I have to mention those, but in this case, think of it as the imperfections that make a Persian rug so exquisite. First and foremost, it was nice to see Jason Dohring get more to do in this episode. His snarling and showing his teeth was exactly what we needed to see in a vampire who was four years old in 1603. His reluctance to jump to the balcony at Hank Mottola's house was odd, considering he is the one who is always telling Mick to embrace who he is. But I loved how he said, "Ugh," and then flew up beside Mick. ...

Veronica Mars stars to reunite on Party Down

I can't believe I forgot to add Party Down to my recent list of new shows I'm looking forward to. Not only is it produced by Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas, but it also stars several Veronica Mars alums. Ken Marino (Vinnie Van Lowe), Ryan Hansen (Dick Casablancas), Adam Scott (Mr. Rooks), and Jane Lynch (Mrs. Donaldson) have all been cast in lead roles. I know, I know; I was hoping to see Jason Dohring, Enrico Colantoni or even Kristen Bell on the cast list too. No such luck. But Colantoni is set to guest star in at least one episode, and so is Ed Begley Jr., who played Dean O'Dell in the last season of Veronica Mars. Plus, Thomas said that Bell has expressed interest in appearing on the show....

CBS orders more scripts for Moonlight, Cane

CBS wants to see where a few of its under-performing shows are going before deciding their fate. The network ordered four more scripts for both Moonlight and Cane. Moonlight, a series about vampires in Los Angeles, is the net's lowest-rated show on Friday nights (it's in the 10 pm time slot). And Cane is ranked 8th on Tuesday nights. While I can't say much about Cane, I can say that I was mighty disappointed in Moonlight. I'm a big fan of Jason Dohring from Veronica Mars, but I found him horribly miscast as "the oldest vampire in LA" (or maybe he'll always be Logan Echolls to me)....

Sail away with Veronica Mars fans

You miss Veronica Mars. We all do. But maybe you miss it just a little more than I do. Maybe your eyes well up with tears whenever you see Jason Dohring on a promo for Moonlight because you know he's not a vampire. He's Logan Echolls, dammit! If that is you, there are kindred spirits out there, my friend. Spirits who miss the brilliant-but-canceled series so much that they're willing to cram onto a cruise ship together and reminisce about Neptune and its inhabitants. From the people who created the Browncoat Cruise 2007, this summer's offering is Cruise to Mars 2008. Yes, it's a real thing!...

Moonlight: Click - VIDEO

(S01E14) "Then you know how I'm going to handle this." Josef to Beth about Dean Foster Things are really starting to heat up in important ways. I know that a lot of fans thought last week's episode was phenomenal, especially because of the scene between Josef and Mick, but this episode was even better. There are two reasons for this: First, that the plot really worked, moved quickly, created suspense, and second that the plot actually had ramifications for Mick's future (and Beth's, and their possible future together). That's called synergy, and I like it. Let's also talk about what was better this week: Jason Dohring wasn't stiff at all. He was both funny and dangerous, just exactly what he needs to be. Eric Winter was also better, pensive, and not such a prick. But everybody looks stupid with those bluetooth earpieces. Why can't all actors wear the wired earpiece like Jason Bourne? I am just not even going to comment on Beth's wig apart from saying that I suppose I am just going to have to live with it. I...

Veronica Mars meets Weevil -- on Heroes?

We Veronica Mars fans take whatever bones the TV world will throw at us. We mourn the loss of the well-written female super-sleuth series, and we've been kicked while we are down with the cancellation of Moonlight, where we at least got to see Jason Dohring every week. Could there be a little love coming for the VM fans? If you watch Heroes, you could be in for a real treat this fall, when Francis Capra, of Weevil fame, joins the cast alongside former Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell. We don't know much about Capra's role except that his name is Jesse and he will be evil. Weevil playing evil -- a rhyme I just had to make and a role I'm looking forward to seeing. Even though I don't watch Heroes, I'll tune in to see what Capra's got for us. So, VM fans, enjoy the reunion of Veronica and Weevil this fall, and try not to let that bothersome Heroes story line get in the way of the VM nostalgia....

Moonlight fans can celebrate on Friday

I didn't jump immediately on the Moonlight bandwagon. The pilot just didn't grab me, and there was still a bitter taste in my mouth from Buffy and Angel being canceled. We Whedon fans don't forgive easily. Eventually, I couldn't take it anymore and I caught up on all the episodes and fell for Moonlight. I loved the unique lore, the back story with Coraline and her family was riveting and yeah, Jason Dohring in love as a vampire? Much more appealing than when he's in love with a little blonde super sleuth. Well, you can now relive the tragically short Moonlight experience, courtesy of the Sci Fi Channel. Beginning this Friday night, they'll be showing an episode of Moonlight every Friday at 9:00, through the entire series. As if that's not enough, the entire series of Moonlight has been released on DVD today. I'm just not sure Moonlight fans could ask for better news than being able to see the series run again. Well, they could ask, but they won't get it....
