Rob Lowe is returning to the small screen -- again. According to the Wrap, Lowe has booked a guest spot on 'Californication' season 4, in which he will play Eddie Nero, an "imbalanced yet charismatic, award-winning movie star" who is up for the role of Hank Moody (star David Duchovny) in the big screen adaptation of Moody's book. No more tan for you! Hear that, Rob Lowe?

Note to Rob Lowe: Stop looking so damn healthy. Signed: The powers that be at ABC. Seriously, Brothers & Sisters' star Rob Lowe has been ordered to stop tanning. Apparently, the actor just looks too good -- bronze and healthy and full of that Kennedy-style of vigor for the role he's playing. ABC brass, the president of the network no less, has told him to stay out of the sun. According to Lowe, he was warned that he is getting too dark and has to mend his ways now. ...

Will Brothers & Sisters miss Rob Lowe?

As Bob wrote, Rob Lowe will be leaving ABC's Brothers & Sisters. It's not the show that's writing him out. Rob Lowe has decided that he's not been utilized enough on the show and he wants to move on. However, ABC wants to keep him part of the network family, so the actor has made a deal with programming head Steve McPherson to try to find a new show for Rob in the future. According to McPherson, "We would like to keep Rob at ABC; we feel he should be anchoring his own franchise. We are in talks now." If this sounds like a familiar scenario, it's because it is. When Rob Lowe was on NBC's The West Wing, he chose to leave the program in 2003 because The West Wing had become an ensemble, and he had thought he was going to be the star....

Rob Lowe Heading to 'Parks & Recreation'

Weeks ago when it was announced that Rob Lowe was leaving ABC's 'Brothers and Sisters,' the spin from ABC was that they desperately wanted to keep Rob in the fold and would be working to develop a new television project for him. Guess what? That was all a lot of hooey. Or exaggeration to the point of sounding more optimistic than true. Today, Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly reported that Rob Lowe will be joining the NBC sitcom, 'Parks and Recreation.' This is a great move by Rob, turning to comedy rather than jumping into another dramatic series. And if you think Rob's not good at comedy, you don't remember his letter-perfect imitation of Robert Wagner's character #2 -- as a younger man -- in 'Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me."...

Rob Lowe Goes Nuts On 'Parks & Recreation' Cast (VIDEO)

No former '80s teen movie star/hearthrob has embraced television as enthusiastically as Rob Lowe. After the film industry proved to be fickle, Lowe relaunched his career as Sam Seaborn on 'The West Wing' and then as Senator Robert McCallister on 'Brothers & Sisters.' He also did a turn as the hilariously bad yet charismatic politician Chris Traeger on 'Parks and Recreation' last season, and guest starred on the new season of 'Californication' as a unbalanced movie star. So, Lowe seems to really love being on TV. And the cast of 'Parks and Recreation' found out just how much in this Funny or Die exclusive where they tell Lowe the show debuts its third season on Jan. 20 after a prolonged break....

Jay Leno Shows Unaired Footage of Rob Lowe in 'Mean Jeans' (VIDEO)

After watching this clip of an unaired show called 'Mean Jeans' starring Rob Lowe, you might be thankful it never saw the light of day. Jay Leno surprised Lowe with footage from the Garry Marshall-produced sitcom from 1981 on 'The Tonight Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC)....

Rob Lowe coming back to The West Wing?

The print edition of TV Guide is reporting that Rob Lowe might be coming back to role as Sam Seaborn on The West Wing! The actor himself says that executive producer John Wells called Lowe personally and asked him to come back. No word yet if it will happen or not, but wouldn't that be unbelievably cool? It would probably be a short stint near the end of the season (or the rest of the series, if the show is canceled, which it might be), but still, this would be a nice gift for longtime fans....

Brothers & Sisters picks up Rob Lowe for the season

Love him or hate him, Rob Lowe is sticking around for the rest of the season on Brothers & Sisters. He plays conservative Sen. Robert McCallister. Ever since Lowe's first guest appearance on November 19th, ratings have been up in the coveted 18-49 age category. Apparently people really like him in a supporting role. So, he has agreed to play the character for the rest of the season. Lowe will continued to be billed as a 'Special Guest Star' but, as Variety points out, Heather Locklear had the same billing on Melrose Place even after becoming a regular. I don't watch Brothers & Sisters, so I can't give an opinion on this one. What do you think? Are you happy Rob Lowe is a somewhat permanent part of the cast?...

Rob Lowe Goes to Washington in New Reality Series

All those years of portraying government officials on shows like 'The West Wing' and 'Brothers & Sisters' seem to have grown on Rob Lowe -- so much so that he has decided to base a new series on real-life up-and-comers in the nation's capital. According to the Washington Post, Lowe has teamed up with production company 44 Blue to launch a new reality series titled 'Potomac Fever.' The show would focus on a group of young Washingtonians as they try to make headway in the politically-charged District of Columbia. According to Lowe, his affinity for the adventures of young Washingtonians is the reason he decided to help create the series. "They live and love at the center of world power," he said. "I can't wait to tell their stories."...

Rob Lowe Is Shocked by His Appearance in Old 'GMA' Interview (VIDEO)

On 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM ET on ABC), Robin Roberts surprised Rob Lowe with a clip of the actor being interviewed by Kathie Lee Gifford in the 1980s. Rob Lowe Blew His Knee Out Trying for the Lead in 'Footloose' (VIDEO)

Thanks to the movie 'Footloose,' Rob Lowe may never dance again. But, Rob Lowe was never in 'Footloose,' you say? As he stated on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (Weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC), he didn't even need to be in the movie for it to end his dance career. Granted, he also said he was a terrible dancer, which begs the question of why he was so determined to try to do it for this film. Maybe move on and stick to what you're good at. "I actually blew my meniscus in my knee out on the 'Footloose' auditions," Lowe said. He went on to relate how that story isn't nearly as impressive when trying to use it as a young actor to pick up girls, but Jimmy Kimmel wasn't having any of it....
