Rob Mariano Talks About Winning 'Survivor' (VIDEO)

Rob Mariano finally won something last night when his was the last torch left lit on 'Survivor.' Until then, Rob's wife Amber was the only 'Survivor' winner in the household. (They also lost as a couple on 'Amazing Race 7.') Today on 'The Early Show' (weekdays, 7AM on CBS), Mariano talked about how it wasn't really the $1 million purse that motivated him to win, it was more a matter of being able to stand tall in his own house. "For the past seven years, I've had to hear it in my own house," said Mariano. "It wasn't so much about the money -- she's getting the check anyway. But now I'm at least on [a] level playing field with my wife when it comes to winners in the 'Survivor' household."...

Rob Mariano and Russell Hantz Have a Score to Settle on 'Survivor: Redemption Island' (VIDEO)

On 'The Early Show' (weekdays, 7AM ET on CBS), anchor Chris Wragge stirs things up between rivals Rob Mariano and Russell Hantz by reading a quote where Mariano calls Hantz a "hobbit" and threatens to "kick his blank" in the upcoming 'Survivor: Redemption Island.' "The facts are this," said Hantz. "I've already kicked his blank once before. So, I wouldn't have come back if it would've just been regular people. But, because he says the things he says, it's time for me to kick his blank once again."...

Rob and Amber not done with reality television

Reality television has become a career for Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich-Mariano. Although they were eliminated on last week's episode of The Amazing Race, they recently gave an interview to People magazine about their plans for the future. Of course, it involves more reality television for the both of them. Mariano said that they couple may be back for a second season of their reality show, Against All Odds, and that they're also planning something that could "be huge". The couple originally hooked up on Survivor: All-Stars, where Rob proposed to Amber when she won. Since then, they've been on a season of The Amazing Race (and almost won), and they also had a reality show about planning their wedding. I actually like these two as a couple and I don't think they're bad people. I enjoyed them on Survivor and The Amazing Race, but I didn't watch their wedding show because I honestly didn't care. I like how Rob plays dirty and Amber pretends to be an angel until it gets down to the nitty gritty and she plays...

The Five: Past Survivors that need to go to Exile Island

Survivor Panama is coming up and as a dedicated Survivor junkie I am a bit excited for this concept of Exile Island. If only they had done this years ago. Here's my completely subjective list of five Survivors I wish I could have sent to Exile Island long ago. Let me know your votes in the comments. 1. Rob Mariano--Better known as Boston Rob, Mariano produced memorable sound bites and not much else as part of Survivor Marquesas. While Boston Rob deserves praise for having learned from his mistakes and scheming his way to second place finishes in both Survivor All Stars and the Amazing Race, I can't imagine spending 39 days with this clown (and I'm from Boston). Sorry cutie, you're going to Exile Island. [image via Survivor Fever]...

Boston Rob on 'Survivor': Not Such a Villain, But Still an Awesome Player

Last night's 'Survivor: Heroes vs. Villain' premiere featured many of our favorite former players (Tom! Rupert! Cirie!), but we have to admit that the one we most wanted to see again was infamous "Boston" Rob Mariano. Boston Rob, as you may recall, has competed already in two previous seasons of 'Survivor' -- season 4's 'Marquesas' and season 8's 'All-Stars.' There, he met and fell in love with fellow contestant Amber Brkich, who ended up winning the big prize while he took second place. As a couple, they competed in two seasons of 'The Amazing Race.'...

Boston to Host 'Jersey Shore' Spinoff

Over the centuries, Boston has been known for its contributions to politics and literature and its role as the starting point of the American Revolution. Now one of the nation's most historic cities is about to be known for a truly 21st century distinction: host of the first official 'Jersey Shore' spinoff. Yes, file this one under inevitable: According to E! Online, MTV is in the process of developing a Boston version of 'Jersey Shore' under the working title 'Wicked Summer.' Considering we predicted as much last month, this should come as no surprise to anyone, as the idea of filling an entire house with variations on "Boston" Rob Mariano no doubt has reality producers salivating....

'Boston Rob' Doesn't Like a Player's Strategy on 'Survivor: Redemption Island' and Blindsides Him (VIDEO)

We're only two weeks in, and already the influences of former players Russel Hantz and Rob Mariano are changing the flow of 'Survivor: Redemption Island' (Wed., 8PM ET on CBS). While Russell is sowing discontent in his tribe, Rob is showing a darker side as well this time around. After last week's crazy ranting at Tribal Council, Phillip Sheppard seemed the obvious choice. But Rob orchestrated a secondary strategy to eliminate a player who couldn't possibly see it coming. And, it was one of their strongest players. So, what did he do to get on the wrong side of "Boston Rob"?...

After Surprise Immunity Win, Blindside at Tribal Council on 'Survivor' (VIDEO)

'Survivor: Redemption Island' (Wed., 8PM ET on CBS) ends with a two-hour finale this Sunday. Going into tonight's episode, there were still a whopping nine people in contention for the top prize, though four of them were on Redemption Island. From there, it was confirmed that only one stood a chance of returning to the game. Rob Mariano has been in sole charge of this season of 'Survivor' since virtually Day One. He masterminded the massacre and total elimination of the Zapatera tribe, and has orchestrated the demise by blindside of every person who's gone home on Ometepe....

'Survivor: Redemption Island' Season Finale: The Winner Is ... (VIDEO)

Going into this three-hour finale extravaganza for 'Survivor: Redemption Island' (Sun., 8PM ET on CBS), one man has been running this game since Day One. "Boston Rob" Mariano single-handedly orchestrated the elimination of the opposing tribe and managed to keep his own alliance of six strong until the end. At every turn, he had total control of the game, but toward the end it became more and more difficult to keep control. Ashley and Natalie have been considering their chances without the Rob-father, and there's still that element of Redemption Island, which has four people on the cusp of returning to the game....

Amazing Race: All Star teams announced

CBS has unveiled the lineup for The Amazing Race 11, which will be an all-stars edition. On the list are, of course, love-to-hate-'em villains Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich, who came in second on season 7. Fans have been wondering how the producers would pick the teams. In USA Today, executive producer Bertram Van Munster said, "They're not necessarily the winners, but character-wise, they're all-stars in our book." And Van Munster promised this Race will be super-tough, with "curveball after curveball," since the teams have all been there, done that. Also racing will be: ...

Survivor's Boston Rob punches a heckler - VIDEO

Sometimes, even the auditions for reality shows can get controversial. Survivor / Amazing Race contestant Rob Mariano ("Boston Rob") has been holding auditions for a new reality show he's producing called Tontine, and things got a little physical at a recent audtion in San Diego. Seems there was some sort of heckler at the audition who started saying things to Boston Rob. They got in each other's face, and a crew member tries to break up the two, but then all of a sudden Rob punches the guy, and the people filming it "oooo" and "ahhhh." Video after the jump (and check out the comments on YouTube, including a comment from the guy who stepped in the middle of the two and another guy who was auditioning at the time). You never see this happen at the auditions for American Idol....

Survive this: Rob and Amber have a baby

Romance on reality TV is rarely as real as the producers want us to think. However, at least one romance seems to be the real thing: Rob and Amber from Survivor. They met on Survivor, thrived on The Amazing Race, flopped on their own show, but have remained a happily married couple four years after they wed. Now the game really begins for these two reality TV vets. Rob and Amber Mariano are the proud parents of newborn Lucia Rose. Little Lucia was born July 4 in Pensacola, and chances are she's going to be raised as a Red Sox fan. Considering how difficult Survivor and The Amazing Race are, and how well Rob and Amber did on both shows, raising a kid should be a piece of cake....

Why can't Rob and Amber work for a living?

Reality show whores Amber and Rob Mariano are getting another reality show because it's better than having a day job. This time the newlyweds are going to the FOX Reality Channel for a docu-series, The Rob and Amber Project. Over ten, half-hour episodes, cameras will follow Rob as he moves to Las Vegas and attempts to launch a career as a professional gambler. Amber is just there to look hot, I guess. If you wonder who on earth I'm talking about, Rob and Amber were both on Survivor and became a couple on Survivor: All-Stars, which Amber won. They placed second in The Amazing Race (the devilish side of me rooted for them) and they got married in a reality special last year. The Project premieres in January....

What to Watch: February 11

'Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains' (8PM, CBS) season 20 premiere They've already done the all-star season, and they've already been in Samoa, but CBS' venerable reality competition calls re-do on both with this season, which pits 'Survivor' "good guys" (and girls!) against the "bad guys" (and girls!) and sends them off to Samoa to see who can get the best of who and, of course, who can emerge as the million dollar winner. Among the players for season 20, where the "Outwit, Outplay, Outlast" slogan has been replaced with "Return, Revenge, Redemption": Rupert Boneham, Colby Donaldson and Candice Woodcock for the Heroes team, and Russell Hantz, "Boston Rob" Mariano and Jerri Manthey for the Villains. Of course, there's no guarantee that the contenders will remain heroes or villains as they duke it out in what is sure to be a particularly tough season ......
