Justin Bieber and Wayne Gretzky Face Off in Air Hockey on 'The Talk' (VIDEO)

Wayne Gretzky may be "The Great One" on the ice, but he found out today on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) that his skills don't necessarily translate to air hockey. Justin Bieber was the guest, and started the game playing against Holly Robinson Peete. But then Peete called in a special substitute, and Gretzky walked on the set. "It's not like real hockey, but let's go," said Bieber as Gretzky readied himself at the opposite end of the table. Bieber then casually slapped in the first point, easy beating Gretzky for a 1–0 lead. The game ended in a 1–1 tie after Gretzky's paddle appeared to fall apart. There was one more surprise. Gretzky had brought a gift: a hockey jersey bearing the Great One's number 99. Bieber gave Gretzky a big hug. And when the panel later asked Bieber what it meant to meet Gretzky, he said, "Why'd you do that to me? You made me look like a groupie or something."...

What to Watch: March 29 - April 4

Biography: Tiger Woods - Thursday April 1, 8 pm, Biography Channel When illustrious personages reach a certain age or notoriety, it is common practice in the media to have an obituary ready and written in case of sudden death. I imagine Michael Jackson falls into this category, and I know when I was at a magazine, a certain low-voiced newsman was our main worry. I would suspect the Biography Channel's eponymous show works the same way so I'm surprised it took this long to get a Tiger Woods episode on the air. Interviews with himself, his late father, Wayne Gretzky, Lance Armstrong and Michael Jordan pepper the episode, and is timed perfectly for Woods' return at the Masters this April....

Shark: Wayne's World

(S01E12) After the last episode's hyper-ballistic antics, I looked forward to seeing Shark's return to good old psychological terror. Billy Campbell (The 4400), still sporting most of the beard and flowing Jesus-locks he grew on his round-the-world sailing trip a year or two ago, guest stars as serial killer Wayne. He is a more formidable villain than we've seen Stark face before. Don't even talk to me about that fizzle of an international arms dealer: the unfortunately-named Khan. Anyway, sociopathic Wayne chooses to defends himself at trial, which puts his single surviving victim in the terrible position of being cross-examined by her own tormentor. That has happened in a few notable real-world cases, and probably a dozen Law and Order episodes, but it's an intense dilemma worthy enough of a go-around here....

Shark: Wayne's World 2 (season finale)

(S01E22) Billy Campbell is back as Wayne the serial-killer, now in the middle of an O.J., If I Did It, -style book tour. Larry King, playing himself for the umpteenth time in a crime drama, interviews Wayne, albeit with eyes glued to cue-cards. Larry asks the kind of pointed challenging questions here that only the fictional Larry King is even know to ask. This cameo affords the most fun moment of the night, however: Stark after arresting Wayne during a commercial break in the interview, and never one to pass by a camera, sits down to join Larry for the final segment....

Wayne Brady Slings Some Mud (VIDEO)

When it comes down to it, Wayne Brady isn't afraid to sling a little mud. The 'Let's Make a Deal' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) host took a contestant's zonk prize, a mud facial kit, and fittingly enough, got down and dirty with it. Brady slapped some mud on his own face and went on to torture 'Deal' announcer Jonathan Mangum. Is it just us or does Mangum seem to be really afraid of mud? Watch the video after the jump....

Colbert Gives His Take on Michele Bachmann Comparing Herself to John Wayne (VIDEO)

Michele Bachmann had a strong image in her mind when she compared herself to John Wayne, who she said was also from Waterloo, Iowa. Unfortunately, while movie star John Wayne was from Iowa, the only John Wayne from Waterloo, Iowa was serial killer John Wayne Gacy. Stephen Colbert, at least, was there to support her on 'The Colbert Report' (Weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central). "Yes, psycho-sexual serial killer John Wayne Gacy is from Waterloo," he admitted. "But that's semantics. You say po-tay-to, I say mass murdering po-tah-to."...

24's Wayne Palmer as Barack Obama or RFK?

People, especially critics, looove to make analogies, trying to compare TV or movie characters to real people. Thus the attempts by some to liken this season's president on 24 to two flesh and blood politicians both of whom have sought (or likely will seek) the Oval Office. Describing a man as a youngish, untested African-American politician who enjoys the public's "good will," Chicago Tribune blogger Maureen Ryan wrote, "Does it sound like the hypothetical presidency of Sen. Barack Obama, Illinois' own presidential hopeful? Well, it's actually the story of Wayne Palmer, the president on the current season of 24." ...

It's irreconcilable differences for Wayne Brady and Johnny Knoxville

Um, no, these two weren't married recently in either Massachusetts or New Jersey. What's actually happening here is that "irreconcilable differences" is being cited as the reason for divorce from their significant others. But, you knew that already, didn't you? In Wayne Brady's case it's his wife, Mandie Brady, that is filing for divorce under these circumstances. The former star of The Wayne Brady Show and Whose Line is it Anyway? (and current host of FOX's new show Don't Forget the Lyrics) and his wife married in 1999. The couple separated in April of 2006, according to papers filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court. Mandie is seeking joint legal and physical custody of the couple's 4-year-old daughter, Maile....

Wayne Brady Discusses "Pimp Slapping" (VIDEO)

On the latest episode of 'Let's Make a Deal' (weekdays, syndicated), an audience member tries to assist some contestants. However, this may not be the best idea. The audience member -- a man named John -- yells advice that helps two young women win a vacation to Aruba. Then, he tries to get himself invited along on the trip with them ... to the displeasure of his girlfriend, who is sitting right next to him. Which is when host Wayne Brady steps in. Brady warns John that if he doesn't watch out, he's liable to get "pimp [slapped]" by his girl. Excellent point, Wayne Brady! It's all in good fun, though....

Drew Carey welcomes Wayne Brady to CBS

I guess if there's one good thing about Guiding Light being canceled is that CBS replaced it with a game show. I'm not sure if Let's Make A Deal is the game I would have chosen to remake, but it's better than having another Dr. Phil-ish show on the schedule. Here Price is Right host Drew Carey welcomes LMAD host Wayne Brady to the network. It starts Monday. ...

Wayne Newton cleared to dance with the stars on tour

Danke schoen, Yahoo! I've had many a sleepless night since Wayne Newton was sidelined with a recurring heart infection, canceled his holiday gig in Vegas and put his participation in the Dancing with the Stars tour in jeopardy. I have a pile of panties and bras next to my bed ready to go (Because Wayne expects his fans to throw bras and panties at him on stage, of course. Why else would I have so many? Or any at all?). "I'm thrilled that my doctors have given me the OK to hit the road this winter and perform for all of my fans across the country," Newton announced. The three month tour begins December 18. I'd say more, but I have to go pack all my stuff. I'm going to go Deadhead on this tour and follow them around, smoking ... er ... medicinal herbs, dressing in brightly colored tuxes and getting extensive plastic surgery at each stop. And I'm legally changing my name to Mr. Las Vegas, Jr....

Wayne Brady Gets Hit in the Crotch on 'Let's Make a Deal' (VIDEO)

Wayne Brady becomes an alter-ego named "Leroy the Magician" on 'Let's Make a Deal' (weekdays, syndicated). And, with the help of announcer Jonathan Mangum as his assistant "Siegfried," Brady manages to get hit in the crotch with a wand several times....

Wayne Brady hosting new lyric challenge on FOX

Wayne Brady will host Don't Forget the Lyrics, a new game show in which contestants must not forget the lyrics (in case the unoriginal title didn't make that clear). The series debuts on FOX July 11 at 9:30 p.m. and July 12 at 8:30 p.m., and features contestants singing along with a studio band, the words in front of them karaoke-style. When the music stops and the words disappear, the contestant must continue to sing the correct lyrics. If the contestant correctly guesses nine lyrics in a row, they have one final chance to try for a tenth lyrics and the chance to win one million dollars. If this sounds familiar, that's because NBC's Great American Singing Bee is pretty much the exact same concept. I don't quite understand how two networks became infatuated with this idea, but I blame the popularity of karaoke. And like karaoke, I assume these shows will be much tolerable if you've had a few drinks beforehand. ...

Wayne Brady Is Not a Game Show Host ... Just Ask Him

There's no doubt that Wayne Brady is quick on his feet, but what I found out when I spoke to the 'Let's Make a Deal' host earlier this month was that he's also quick to make sure his career isn't pigeonholed. Mention that an improvised rap he did on the CBS daytime game show reminds you of one he did on Drew Carey's version of 'Whose Line Is It, Anyway?' and he'll take pains to mention that he's been honing these skills in his stage show and elsewhere for years. Ask how the chemistry between him and announcer Jonathan Mangum came about and he'll make sure to tell you that the two of them have been performing together for close to two decades. But, most of all, Brady refuses to define himself as a game show host. "In my head, a game show host is the guy that stands there and just goes, 'And now, what are you doing, Jim?' And that's not me. I was hired to bring something else to it," he told me. Brady and I spoke about the show's second season, its move from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, and what he thinks...

CBS makes a deal for Let's Make a Deal with Wayne Brady

Game show fanatics will be pleased to learn that network game shows are returning to daytime television. Finally, people who take actual sick days will have something else to look forward to other than another mind-bending dose of NyQuil. CBS has confirmed they are replacing the outgoing Guiding Light with a remake of the classic Let's Make a Deal. The ex-Tiffany network has already shot a test pilot of the updated show with smiling crooner Wayne Brady in the host's chair. Brady hasn't officially won the job, but he's the front-running favorite. CBS executives are expected to make Brady's deal official later today at the Television Critics Association hoedown, unless, of course, he chooses to go for what's behind Door Number Two. Don't do it Wayne! It's just a lifetime supply of goat feed!...
