Lost: Dave

Another week, another new Lost. Ok, so that doesn't actually happen that often, but we're kind of on a roll here. This week didn't stack up all that well against last week's episode, that's for sure. I would still probably rank it above the Sun and Jin trip down memory lane though. There seems to be this frightening trend emerging with the Lost episodes where one week is awesome, the next, not so awesome. They've always kind of had that roller coaster feel, but it seems much more pronounced the second half of this season. I'm fine with it, I love roller coasters, but I can easily see how some people want to get off this ride. On with the show!...

Lost: Lockdown

As someone in the chat said: "Now that's some old school Lost right there". That it was, that it was. I'm going to say something and I fully expect to get  both "You're absolutely right Ryan, I feel the same way!" and "Ryan, you ignorant slut" replies-- the second season is far superior to the first. Personally, I'm a huge sci-fi geek, but Lost has won over a crowd that is much larger than your typical sci-fi show. It won an award for best drama last year, and that's what they've been playing up this year. It's all about the drama, the personal connections, the hierarchy and structure of the tribe, who depends on what and whom, and you know what? I'm loving every second of it. I want more. On with the show!...

Lost in cartoons

If you're a fan of Lost and are looking for something, anything, by co-creator Damon Lindelof, you might be interested to know he'll be offering his writing talent to Marvel Comics for The Ultimate Wolverine Vs. Hulk, which should hit comic book stores in December. Of course, this isn't too strange for those involved with Lost. Paul Dini, a writer on the show, was also a writer for cartoons like Tiny Toons and Batman: The Animated Series. I actually knew this, though it took me until today to make the connection. Also, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, a writer/producer, penned The Middle Man for Viper comics, which is a comic series I've never heard of, but since this is the Web I'm sure someone will clue me in as to what that is exactly....

Lost Rhapsody

Lost, Weird Al Yankovich and Queen, "Three great tastes that taste great threegether". This is the greatest thing I've seen in a long long time, and any fan of Lost will gleam at least a little humor from this. This is kind of along the lines of the Jib-Jab political cartoons from the past couple of years. I'm not sure how to describe it beyond that too much. Just watch it. For me, the best part of the entire short was Grimlock's (from the Transformers) cameo. So head on over to Weird Al's site and check out this short. Trust me, you'll love it....

Ratings Up for 'Lost' Premiere

ABC's 'Lost' found a considerably large audience last night for its much-awaited season 6 premiere. According to the Live Feed, the two-hour episode attracted 12.1 million viewers and a 5.6 rating among adults 18-49, up 12 percent from last year. The news should come as a sigh of relief for the network, which saw record-low numbers for 'Lost' last January. For its season 5 premiere, the show drew just 11.4 million viewers and was down 26 percent from 2008....

Is Evangeline Lilly leaving Lost?

Could one of the top stars be leaving one of TV's top shows? Zap2It is reporting that Evangeline Lilly, who plays Kate on ABC's Lost, is currently auditioning for roles on new TV shows. And these aren't shows that are going to premiere after Lost ends its run after next season, these are pilots for new shows starting this fall. Hmmm... This wouldn't be the first time that Lost has gotten rid of a major character on the. They killed off Charlie and Eko and Anna and got rid of Michael and Walt, so it's not like the show is against throwing fans for a loop and having anything possible. But Kate is a major major character, one that holds a lot of the plots together emotionally (her relationships with Jack and Sawyer, taking care of Aaron for Claire) so it would be a big deal if she were to leave. Several Lost sites have been reporting that a "majorish" character will be killed off before this season ends. (Lilly's rep says the report isn't true.)...
