DESCRIPTION
The millions of people who can barely function each morning without their first cup of coffee probably never considered the brew's historical path. The three-part documentary ``Black Coffee'' does, delving into the social and economic significance the commodity has on entire nations, from its discovery in the Ethiopian hillsides to the rise of the designer coffee industry and the fair trade movement. The film also meets those involved in both the production and consumption of coffee, and sheds light on the industry's human rights and ecological record that remains tenuous at best.
