Competitive cheerleading is often a high-stakes, high-pressure activity, which is why there are coaches like Patty Ann Romero, a former gymnast and certified hypnotist, who help cheer teams train for their competitions. Romero is the co-founder and director of Central Jersey All Stars, a company whose staff strives to produce successful competitive cheerleading teams while instilling a strong sense of pride, confidence and self-respect in the athletes. This docuseries follows Romero and her team of 20 highly conditioned cheerleaders as they perform jaw-dropping stunts and choreographed dance moves. When not practicing in the gym, the girls must balance their schedule of conditioning and competitions with school and everyday teenage life. The executive producers of ``Cheer'' are talk-show host Kelly Ripa and her husband, actor Mark Consuelos.
