DESCRIPTION
Scientists throughout the ages have performed experiments that, in hindsight, may have seemed questionable. This series, hosted by actor John Noble (``Fringe''), recalls stories of scientific undertakings that didn't just push the envelope but, instead, soared off into Dr. Frankenstein territory. Dramatized re-enactments bring to life Soviet scientist Dr. Ilya Ivanov's attempts to crossbreed humans and apes, UFO researcher Morris Jessup's investigation of government invisibility experiments, as well as other outlandish-but-true topics. Then viewers are left to form their opinions about whether these profiled individuals were truly way ahead of their time -- or just plain crackers.
