When someone bangs on the front door out of the blue, one's first thought may be that there's a pesky vacuum cleaner salesman or determined Girl Scouts in waiting. The unsuspecting homeowners in this series are probably glad they didn't quietly hide around the corner and wait until the rapping subsided.
