``Downtown Girls'' takes its cue from ``Sex and the City,'' following the real-life exploits of New Yorkers Shallon Lester, a relationship blogger for Glamour magazine, and her friends: Gigi, a record company marketer; Nikki, a fashion boutique owner; Victoria, an aspiring attorney; and Klo, a bride-to-be and Shallon's confidante, as they share adventures that test their views of life, romance and friendship.
