Surviving in the wild is far from an exact science. Beyond the basics of finding water, food, shelter and eventually help, experts' opinions differ. Two such experts share how they think it's done in this series, as initial episodes feature trained survivalists Dave Canterbury and Cody Lundin demonstrating how the right skills and some creative thinking can help keep one alive in unforgiving surroundings. Equipped with only minimal gear and left in remote locations -- a deserted island off the coast of Nova Scotia, a mountaintop in New Zealand, deep in the Florida Everglades, the jungles of Thailand, and the desert of Mexico's Baja California, to name a few -- the pair battle the elements and sometimes each other in their quest to survive. The series' third season introduces U.S. military special operations veteran Joseph Teti, who replaces Canterbury.
