DESCRIPTION
From Mark Burnett Productions comes this eight-part series that chronicles the historical adventure of four elite explorers deep in the wilds of Tanzania. Using only a compass and basic maps, navigator Pasquale Scaturro, wildlife expert Mireya Mayor, survivalist Benedict Allen and journalist Kevin Sites trace the steps taken by journalist Henry Morton Stanley, who in 1871 went to Africa to investigate the whereabouts of Dr. David Livingstone, a famous explorer who disappeared several years earlier while on an expedition to locate the source of the Nile River. Embarking on a 30-day, nearly 1,000-mile journey, the four explorers face dangers including severe dehydration, deadly diseases and wild animals.
