Being a chef can be bad for one's health as being around food so much can lead to overeating and, subsequently, weight gain. "Fat Chef" profiles chefs who have succumbed to the temptation and now need help to overcome their abusive relationship with food. In each episode, two overweight chefs seek help in overcoming their weight issues and regaining control of their lives. The chefs turn to therapists, nutritionists and trainers in their quests to lose weight. Among the health professionals who help the chefs are nutritionist and author Christine Avanti, fitness guru Robert Brace and trainer Brett Hoebel.
