The newly rebranded series (``The Next'' has been dropped from the title) that turns a home cook into a TV star returns for a seventh season as 15 new hopefuls compete for their own show on Food Network. Veteran Food Network personality Bobby Flay returns to host and serve as a judge. Giada De Laurentiis, who served as a mentor to last season's contestants, joins the selection committee this year. As usual, the finalists face challenges that test not only their culinary skills but also their on-camera presence. Each episode features an elimination until one person remains and wins the grand prize -- a six-episode series on Food Network and the title of Food Network Star.
