Often married but currently single, Rosemary is a free spirit whose nontraditional parenting style somehow has produced a son who is stable and responsible. Her recently divorced best friend, Jane, relies heavily on her kooky ``manny,'' Horatio, to help raise her adolescent daughter, Annie, and baby, Sophie, now that Jane has returned to work.
