Macho New York Sun columnist Mike Logan has a bone to pick with his new boss. It's not bad enough she's a woman, although that's hardly a point in her favor with Mike. No, she's also his ex-wife, Kate Montgomery, who was married to Mike just long enough to produce a daughter, Abby, now 14 and one of the few things Mike and Kate can agree on. Watching the fireworks between these two around the office are Belinda, the tippling society columnist; jaded police reporter Ernie; Alan, the uptight financial reporter; and Donna, who idolizes Kate and thinks Mike is a pig.
