There's plenty of drama at the Gatsby Salon in New Jersey, where big hair, big nails, and a constant tan are de rigueur. The high-end salon has recently undergone a complete makeover of its own, and is now as state-of-the-art as it can get. Owner Gayle and her daughter Christy are feeling the pressure to make the shop a success -- and the ongoing drama among the staff is just one more stressor. Makeup artist Olivia is out to prove herself -- but her continuing clashes with hairstylist Tracy keep the atmosphere tense. Stylist Anthony, who's working at the Gatsby while his own salon gets revamped, is unfazed by the female drama surrounding him. Alexa, who has a sideline business doing makeup for brides on the weekends, has dreams of her own, and very definite feelings on what constitutes Jersey style. And Gigi, who dreams of a husband and family, is working on reconciling with the love of her life while styling hair at the salon.
