More than 20 years following the end of his original 26-episode series, the young adventurer and his friends returned in 1986 as part of the syndicated ``The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera'' block for 13 additional trips into the thrilling and mysterious. The format remained basically the same: Jonny, his scientist father, bodyguard ``Race'' Bannon, Indian pal Hadji and comic-relief family bulldog Bandit travel the world, investigate strange cases, and battle a plethora of foes (including old enemy Dr. Zin). While the new series doesn't evoke the sense of eerie menace that permeated the 1960s tales, the toned-down escapades are sufficient enough to hold children's attention spans.
