DESCRIPTION
Acclaimed chef, cookbook author and restaurateur Lidia Bastianich has long been a staple on PBS, and she adds to her body of work with ``Lidia's Italy.'' Based on her travels through the country, and her studies of regional cuisines there, she brings her versions of Italian favorites to her kitchen here in the United States. From calamari in Palermo, Sicily, and vegetable farro in Puglia, to spaghetti and white clams in Naples and figs braised with beans in Tuscany, Lidia brings local Italian specialties to the U.S. home cook.
